We just started our stove room renovation yesterday, so I snapped a couple before pics on Saturday. We didn't realize the floor was in this good of condition before we pulled the carpet up, it should look even better when I refinish it. The next step is to remove the hearth which I'm not looking forward to. The plan is to cover the concrete brick with rock veneer and make a lower hearth, directly in front of the opening and place a fs stove on it. 002.JPG 003.JPG 002.JPG 003.JPG it.

Love the floor Norky! I had the same pleasant surprise when I pulled my carpet...what were they thinking when they covered it.

It boggles the mind, doesn't it? That looks fantastic Norky, can't wait to see the hearth rebuild.

    Thanks all.
I'm glad they kept it carpeted, it'll make the job much easier. Decided to try removing a few bricks from the hearth today. I thought I'd need to rent a jack hammer again (hate those things) but after the first brick was out, the rest just popped right off. And surprise, wood floors underneath. 001 (2).JPG

I'm sure I will. We plan on getting either a T5 or a 30NC, whatever the budget permits, that won't happen until March though.
I don't mind using this stove for one more season though, it's served me well.

Wow, brick over hardwood. I wonder if the floor of the fireplace is built up too? Nice looking room you have there. Open the window and grab a few splits off the pile...

Ok, just finished my "stove room" after a year of work. I installed the PH stove last December, but had the other walls ripped open to replace a window, run wires, and install a motorized TV lift bracket over the window. The TV is a 60" LCD that now comes down over the window, and goes back up out of the way above the window. Not an easy install, all custom"stuff", but man is it COOL! ;)

Here's a couple panorama's of the room now with TV in up and down postiions:

    And the outside view is?????
Really like all the glass. Up here is Maine, you might need some sort of thermo curtain to retain any heat at night. I like the wood floors. So much more easy to take care of. exp if there are pets around. All those remote controls on the coffee table remind me of my set up. I am the only one that doesn't seem to mind them here. Your stove set up looks very impressive.

    Thanks guys!

I'll post the view shortly.... ;)

All those remotes are gone. I use a programmable professional URC remote, all those go into it, with macro's.... press one button, everything fires up, bracket/TV comes down, Satellite receiver goes to weather channel, lights dim..... ;) I HATE remotes!

As for the speakers, trust me whe I tell ya, they are plenty "big" enough. If your an audiophile, your understand why. They are B&W CM1's, they sound like 20" sub towers! OF course it helps to have a Denon 3313ci amp pushing them, and two 10", 250 watt powered subwoofers to accompany them. I listen to alot of reggea, old school reggea, so I like it loud, and I like it hitting hard (lotta bass). ;) So they "look" small, but they aint small!
