I love this site, I can ask questions without being treated like the idiot I am--

Anyway, I have never heard anyone complain about their eyewear steaming up while processing. Mine always do, and I am ashamed to say, they spend a lot of time on my head rather than on my face. I have a mesh face shield I can use, but I don't really like it. Anybody ever heard of maybe mesh glasses that don't hinder your eyesight?

I moved this to the appropriate category. I had nothing but problems with glasses, goggles, and face shields. I ended up buying Bugz mesh goggles from bailey's website. There is a picture in my albums.

I'm planning on getting some mesh goggles soon. I spent some money on Amazon on "fog free" glasses earlier this year. They helped, but eventually still steamed up on me so I took them off. They work fine if I'm moving, like using the weed trimmer around the yard. But if I'm in one place sawing I'm blind with them in 5 minutes.

I'm sure there's a chance some small pieces can get through the mesh, but it's better than nothing. Make sure to get steel and no plastic mesh.

I go with the full face shield. Bark can get loose on grapple loaded wood which is often what I deal with. I've had my chain toss a chunk of it back in my face going through a log. Mesh face shield stopped it before I could react.

Being fully capable of working up a good sweat, somehow I can't fog up my (prescription) safety glasses. Even if I wear some wire-mesh Bugz goggles over them; of course that'd mean it's a windy day.
Whenever practical, I'll have my Husqy combo helmet on, with full mesh mask and excellent muffs on, thank you! :BrianK:

Connecticut has much diversity, of all sorts. Even in my little area, many different habitats- I'm learning with local Land Trust.
Been known to spend some time down in NJ, working in the woods. In fact, still awaiting word from Cuz in Skillman to clear Sandy damage. With another Cuz, in one day with my little (quiet) Echo 315 I cut enough woody debris for folks to build a barricade all along his road frontage.
You'll see me elsewhere, as applicable. Happy to go for a beer, once a proper sweat dissipates a bit. Wine is good too. :dennis: Gladtameetcha.
