Two separate jobs, 5 trees total. Saturdays job consisted of three trees.....two white pines and what my buddy THOUGHT to be an ash tree (he's not real good at identifying trees), well to my surprise that ash tree was actually a pignut hickory! The problem was it was hanging waay out over a very expensive house!

The pines were quick and fairly easy.....but I had to piece and lower every single top from the hickory. Didn't get many pics on the hickory as it got dark on us til we finished.....

Sundays job was fairly easy and straight forward. We dropped two very large, long-dead elms.......bucked them up for the homeowner, packed up our tools and headed home.....

Very nice man! I love Hickory  Wished you lived closer I got two that need pieced down
In that last photo did you drop that sucker on the driveway? If so are you worried about it busting up the asphalt?

There was a dip where the driveway was (pretty good one) and we had enough of a dip where we knew the tree wouldn't touch it......didn't hurt the driveway. The other one we rigged with our cable to the truck and pulled it sideways away from the driveway as it certainly would have done damage to the driveway.
BTW that other elm, the homeowner wanted it cut 8' off the ground......he's going to have a bear carved out of the stump by a local carver.

Weather is sunny and beautiful here today today Scotty, but yesterday I was out riding my mountain bike up the mountain about 2000 ft above my place and a heavy snow squall blew in on me and I was in nearly white out conditions. It was the first snow I've experienced so far this year and it was quite a start.
The ground is still way too warm for any of it to stick though.

That sounds like the one time on RAAM going up Wolf Creek Pass and suddenly the wet turned into white! Poor guy on the bike was about frozen when he got to the top. I had the RV nice and warm for him too.
