I would fill it with non-ethonal and stabil.

Fill it up with E0, and stabil, run some through it, then shut the fuel off, run it until it stops, then pop the drain bolt out of the carb bowl (it's on the bottom of the bowl at about a 45* angle) and let it drain dry...good to go

A little Stabil in your tank will do the trick. Works fine for me using pump 87 w/ eth.

Just getting caught up in this thread. Beautiful stacks ole. Your attention to detail is first rate. :handshake: Thanks for taking the time to share your hoarding adventures.

I store my splitter in my pole barn and I never drain the gas tank or let it run dry. I use nothing but non-E with Stabil. So far no problems.

I top mine off as full as possible, to exclude most of the air, with non-ethanol mid-grade treated with PRI-G fuel stabilizer, and it's worked for the splitter, tillers, and other seasonal equipment. An empty or poartially empty tank will rust in our climate, then you've got other problems.

I've had problems with Stabil in other equipment but none with the PRI-G. In a couple of instances the Stabil formed a murky yellow or light blue viscous mass, that reminded me of the look freshly laid frog eggs. Never did figure out what caused it, as I know a lot of folks have good luck with Stabil.

I try to always run Premium e-free but this summer I some fuel points to use, $1 off per gallon, so was putting e-10 in stuff as I was using it more. Now need to run that through and change back to the premium and run some more. Lawn tractor with snow blower hasn't been run in 5-years. No special treatment and it fired up Sunday. Need to finish getting access to it so I can pull it out of the garage and run that fuel out of it, change oil, and make sure it will be ready to go. The small 2-stroke blower has been doing the work and haven't had any trouble with it.

We had an inch of rain here yesterday so I was unsure if I could haul loads today. Our gun deer starts here Nov 21 so I took the 192 top handle to clean up around 3 tree stands. Then I girdled a mulberry and dropped a small hackberry near my pile. To get more sunlight in I hope.

This mulberry should not leaf out now.

And as I was processing the hackberry I ran out of fuel with two cuts left. It always happens to me I swear.

I’m not stacking the splits at my monster pile this year. I’m just throwing them in loosely. But I made two sidewalls on each side first. I wonder how much pressure those sidewalls will take before I have a blow out?

    IMG_4806.jpeg IMG_4807.jpeg IMG_4808.jpeg

I just back up to the middle and start tossing. Wood pallets on the outside plastic ones inside.

    IMG_4805.jpeg

I hauled six loads just like this one but I kept the weight down I hate leaving ruts on my trails. IMG_4802.jpeg

Back at it tomorrow if the rain holds off,,

I suggest a second ring with about 2" spacing for a sure kill. I've had some grow back over a single girdle. Once I started doubling up none have survived.

It happens. You can either delete and repost or try to edit. I usually start over.

In my case the cursor is in the wrong place when I start typing and don't realize it.

Hauled loads to the monster pile all day. pizzing rain/misty most of the day so no pics. I left the phone in the house. But the monster pile is growing I just can’t verify it!

If my nephew is not hunting up there tomorrow I may get done. There are 4 loads of split oak and shagbark left to haul. The finish line is in sight,,

Spent most of the day in my woods. Counted 6 bucks tending hot does but am certain some of those were doubles. At any rate the boys were having fun. Actually watched one mount a doe. There are two bucks in this pic you’ll have to zoom to see the one on the left. He was a tiny spike.

My fall procurement program has ended. Not sure how much is in my woods pile but it is a bunch. One can see lasts years cuts to this years cuts. The last jag I was very tired.

    IMG_4812.jpeg

    The monster pile.

Then I loaded up my uglys. I trade them to my amish buddies

    IMG_4821.jpeg

I am done. It’s time to do other stuff for awhile.

He has 4 boys and they are very handy. I hire them often to do odd jobs around here. So I will get some free labor for a bit. Today little Benjamin is going up on the roof to remove the chimney plug and put the cap on. It’s time to start the wood stove it’s 27F here this morning.

(I plug the chimney every April to keep the stupid birds out of my wood stove)
