Note from Rob: Hedge, It would be a privilege. I assume we are talking about the tombstome? Regarding that, I felt that it was something I could do from the west coast. Rob Post away griz..
It would be nice to take up a collection, but it's not my place to say. There have been a lot of concerns with taxes and stuff.
Paypal? Dealing with all these saw hauls and the few sales...that and I read of someone pay paling him money for a saw. If his window has access to his paypal maybe someone can share his paypal get jeremy to talk to his wife and if she says Yea to that maybe paypal it...not sure if they count that as one of the transactions that they 1099 you for at the end of the year or not? If so I would maybe not go that route.
But if we "gift" him the money? I believe if you have transactions totaling $20k or 200 individual ones you get a 1099 . Not sure how gifts are seen?
And Money Orders.. I had a small mishap today that is going to take some of my funds in the short term, but I will be sending some money via M.O. Think of it this way..? What if it was you? I was in an accident today and this is all I could think of. What if it was worse? What would my wife do? My kids? Etc.... Think and give with your hearts people. This was a person we consider a friend. Sooner or later your gonna be that "friend". What would you want people to do for you (or should I say your wife)?
I believe there will be a ported 661 saw raffle for folks to buy into if that simplifies things... It has been bought.. Just need to get it to mastermind for porting... "Smuggled in from Canada" There will be a thread I would think...
