Had a fire in the insert last night while the world series was in. The stove was choochin' like the Brewers bats were on fire. Oops. Got a little warm in the house. That was only using lower BTU wood even.

Sun been warming up my house as we are having sun.. mornings are frosty outside but new insulation is working great. House is holding 65° overnight :dancer: Chilly part of day is 4 am when dog goes out until 7:30 when sun comes up..

18 months ago weatherization insulated basement rim joist and coal room and blower door test showed 68% less airflow. Really made a difference in our BTU requirements

Jason, that some beautiful work. It's probably a good thing I didn't go to that show or I might be broke.

Thanks for helping Mom and Dad and I'm glad they are both home.

Thanks Dennis and me too. Mom really scared me there for a while. They had to put her on a ventilator for a few days. All is on the up and up.
Dad said he made a little over three hundred at the show so he did well. Pretty neat seeing him using wood I cut up for firewood. He sold a bunch of blanks too so others will be making stuff with it. Was a huge horse chestnut I removed for a friend that lived in Harrisburg.

Random pic.. Monday evening I stopped at the home of a guy I used to work with. He wants me to clear a small plot for a pole building. Pulled over on the ride home to admire the beautiful full moon. Camera wouldn’t focus perfect. IMG_9977 Medium.jpeg

Negotiated a FBM deal on a set of stock F150 wheels and tires for my old red truck this AM for a pretty good price. Trying to decide the best way to get rid of the old set. I'll probably just list them on FBM for scrap price and not have to deal with getting the tires dismounted.

Walnut bathroom vanity is nearly done. Just need to mount the doors.

Yep. I still use it for light/dirty work and my boys drive it to go hunting. Trying not to put too much money into it, but the tires are well past their useful life.

So we bought some different oil for equipment that is idled currently at work...MUCH cheaper than what is normally used when running.
I'm sitting there pouring oil in and reading the label...they are pointing out this handy built in "handle" in the front bottom edge of the bucket...I'm thinking "sweet"!
I wonder if they just fill the bucket a lil more to compensate for the area taken up by the void?
Then I look at the volume on the label...shrinkflation!
Never seen this on a "5 gallon" bucket before...

I just ran across this photo from 2022, husbands business still trying to recover from covid and not happy about this, he had several trucks running at that point and a couple were diesel (his was gas). What a mess. That said I remember a sinking feeling in early 2000's filling the old Blazer I did deliveries with, min 150 mi per day and always over the 1/2 ton weight (cases of copy paper are heavy). I kept 2 hundred dollar bills and filled the 30 gal tank atleast twice a week. 2003 was a snowfall for the record books. Entire town of Ft Collins colo pretty much shut down for an extended period. It was worse than a mess, a couple small local businesses went out of business and local grocery chain closed a store whose roof caved in instead of paying to repair it. 7' in some places including our home above town.

Got the new rims/tires picked up this AM. Apparently Ford changed the thread pitch on the F150 wheel studs in 2015 so the lug nuts won't work and I need to order some new ones. Thanks Ford, I'm sure the old thread pitch was probably just looking for a way to kill me driving down the road...glad you changed it.
