At $320 I won’t be buying an extra. I still have my cast iron cat frame with a slightly used ceramic cat so when my steely goes bad I’ll go back to ceramic. The ceramics should hopefully be a little cheaper but I’m not sure if they last as long?

I bought 2 last season when mine unspooled. I think I'm going to follow your lead here and have a couple on hand going forward. The odds of prices dropping seems impossible.

Woodstock called me yesterday and they have sled assemblies for the Ideal Steel ready to ship.

All stoves appear to be repriced and yet sold out/out of production for 2026.
Have they closed down completely for vacations before ?

I can’t recall ever seeing this happen before. Doesn’t look good, they should be busy building stoves for the upcoming season not on vacation.

I could have sworn this was an annual summer break.

The no more stoves for 2026 is disheartening.
I hope they are doing some subcontracting work to keep their guys busy and not enduring layoffs.

I know this is a old post but today I ordered a new Catalytic for my Woodstock Soapstone Fireview 205 from Midwest Hearth. The package is 2 Cats at $119 each and a $8 gasket. Total with tax about $250. I find these ceramic cats are much easier to clean, no need for 50/50 distilled water/white vinegar. I also find they last longer and stay at 600'F temps even in later years. They last at least 5 years, all you need to do to clean them is take it outside and softly bumb it on a piece of wood, or use an electric hairbrush to blow out soot.

To all the folks complaining about the cost of CAT’s, I find it amazing when I bouth my stove back in 2011/12ish the cats were $245. Now with everything going on they are $320? That’s actually not bad in reality. But they are backordered right now.

I just asked that Midwest Co. posted above if they can make the PH model… i like the idea of the ceramic…

It appears that the Keystone and Palladain are the only 2 stoves currently suspended from production. The rest of the models are showing available on their website. I'm hoping thats a good sign.

Not going to lie, I was a little nervous a few weeks ago when I saw literally none of their stoves were in production. So happy to see them building again.

I've been using ceramic for a while now, originally with FireCat and now Midwest Hearth. It is 2 ceramic squares at $119 each, and a $5 gasket. So, with my taxes, it cost $250 (not $320). The ceramic definitely lasts as long as the steel. Much easier to clean; just tap them to get the dust off them. Too bad they aren't available for the other Woodstock's stoves.

I would love to buy the Woodstock's if they were available, even with more money, but not being available is a problem.

Looking back at this thread, I wasn't suggesting Lorin was "just an office girl."
    Lol

The "customer service" girl didn't seem to know they offered rebuilding services.
    Lorin got things straightened out.

Yes, she is a winner! I don't know what Tom would do without her.
