There's still so much dead ash here that I can process it and it will be ready for the next year no issues. Now when I get longer to season wood, then I process it and usually let it sit outside for 9 months to a year before getting it in the shed.

Sounds like something else to me...like a carb passage that is still not fully open, or something along those lines.
I had a carb on a Honda GX340 that really fought me here a month or two back...I had the dumb thing apart 5-6 times until it stopped surging (unless the choke was left partially on) but I finally won!

It's odd because after I reinstalled the carb in Spring, it started up and ran just fine. It was funky until warmed up, because the choke is the linkage that is wonky. When trying to start it a week or so ago, it would pop over when primed, then crap out and even though the muffler got hot, it never washed to actually run more than the brief time. Pushing the primer I couldn't ever get it to catch and stay running. I pulled it over like 80-100 times. The carb was fully cleaned in a vibra tank. Parts cleaner.

Beautiful morning so did an early tree drop of that oak that I wanted down before I really start working in the woodlot. Kind of an unorthodox hinge, however the curve of the trunk and all the limbs wanted to pull the tree 90-degrees from where I wanted it to go (everything was going towards the large boulder to the right of the tree in the picture, and yes, I moved the tractor before I dropped the tree). I did the face cut, then started a back cut on the side the tree wanted to lean (I'll call it the front side), pounded in a wedge, started the back cut on the opposite side, trimmed a bit more on the front side and added another wedge, then just finished the back cut from the back side knowing I wasn't leaving much of a hinge. I was pretty much relying on the wedges to guide the tree. Worked like a charm and the tree dropped right where I wanted it (which couldn't be better because it's right at the back of my existing log pile). Don't know if it was skill or luck, but I'll take it and call it a win in the books.

Good job getting it on the ground safely. Always a plus when a plan goes the way you wanted it! And it was all skill on your part!!! :salute:

Yesterday I took the splitter over by my buddy's. Yep. Clogged jet. Why? Idk. But it was. It runs great after cleaning it out. There's a filter on the line and that was new in Spring.

Hauled a load of mostly ash home yesterday. Can't load, when a screenshot of a screenshot. Grrr

Then I ran a tank and a half through the splitter.

And a screenshot of that trailer load of splits is still too big. So , you'll have to trust me on that

Too windy today to finish the shed so worked on a couple other of the never-ending projects to be done before winter. I needed to consolidate some of the logs in the woodlot and that gave me partial access to the oak I had dropped a couple weeks ago. Started bucking the limb wood and then figured I would winch the tree out, section it, and add it to the log pile. Was having too much fun (with the tractor and the chainsaw) and hadn't really run a saw in a while (other than dropping the tree) so used the grapple instead, pulled the tree up a little at a time, and bucked it with the 261. Nice little stack of RO to be split when it was all said and done (and the supervisor approves - last pic).

I took today off from work to make this a long weekend. So today stacked the trailer of wood that I posted the picture of previously.

I then ran the dolkita and shortened the few rounds that were just a bit too long and split up and loaded another trailer full of splits. A lot of pine, with some ash, basswood, box elder, and a few rounds of poplar. I'll get a little more done tomorrow as well, probably early.
