There is only one 'King' of Double Action revolvers. This is of course my opinon (that happens to be shared by many). They are making them once again, but they are not hand fitted like they once were. This is one of my Grail Guns. Dunno if I'll ever own one, but have wanted for a long time.
Hate to see all this Wall Street kerfuffle with an esteemed company. Highly recommend the book " Ruger and His Guns: A History of The Man, the Company, and Their Firearms" by RI Wilson. It is expensive due to 300+ pictures-but hey, Christmas is coming. "The only time the world makes sense nowadays is when I am splitting firewood..."
Yep, seems kinda crazy to be discontinuing some models that Ruger has been known for. Not long ago I bought two LCRx handguns, 22 & 22 mag, 3” barrel.
One of my cousins worked for several years at Ruger in NH; they had a very generous policy concerning employee discounts
Updated info An Official Journal Of The NRA | Ruger Suspends Production of Several Major Models They just sent out the email containing that article, but the article is dated the 12th of October, so I doubt there is anything new in it.
I say buy it when you can get your hands on it. Whichever condition that means. I have wanted a few particular guns over the years, put it off and thought 'one day' or 'later'. Many of them disappeared from the easy way I could have gotten them (as in the store where I saw them....I didn't search hard for them ie hunt down on gun broker etc). With what's going on with Ruger, if they stop producing that gun, it could become much harder to get, especially for a decent price.
That was in Newport? I was in that facility as a subcontractor once back in 2015. Nice bunch of guys; everyone I dealt with at least. They all loved what they did even though it was monotonous at times.
