    I know its a concept...

But you know there could be a market if Stihl offered these carbon and other light weight parts as factory aftermarket like the auto companies do. Titanium muffler and handle anyone??

It'd be a limited market so they wouldnt have to stock that many parts. Could be a small money maker and a way for enthusiasts to customize their saw while saving weight. Maybe the return would be too small for Stihl.. but then again, how many shop vacuums are they selling?

Not that I am aware of.

That market would be EXTREMELY limited.

Not sure I would buy one. I wish saws used less plastic and more metal. If I break aluminium, magnesium or steel I can weld it back together for the most part. Plastic or carbon, not really. Not saying there is not a potential market, I'm saying I not one of them.

Maybe. It wouldnt be thousands of units, Ill give you that.

I know some woods guys, (not just here) who would be interested in some catalog parts as factory hop ups. A set of carbon covers or bars for example would sell, assuming they werent foolish expensive and offered some benefits.

Look at all the auto companies, they offer factory hop up parts. I know the car market is larger, but still. Not only does it make them a bit of money it helps build the brand image.
