Sun is shining brightly at the moment.

 

Well, transmission lines are done on the ram. The fittings weren't bad to deal with, it was routing them down through the truck that was a nightmare.

Also thought I had a loose heat shield rattling, but I guess it was a rusted out exhaust clamp.

 

The heat finally broke and it feels amazing outside. Got another good rain overnight but the rest of the week looks dry. 70's and 50's all week.

Got a few wood shop projects to knock out this week. Customizing a cabinet and making some custom trim for some other. Also need to install some crown molding for my MIL.

 

Looks like a nice clean install! Not an easy job. The mfg installed them with the body off and before the engine and transmission were installed.

 

Designed for speedy assembly, not for a quick repair. I remember trans lines being one of the worst.

Chocolate has doubled/tripled in price in the last 6 years...

 

I've only had 4oz unsweetened Bakers bars (100% cacoa) available for at least a decade. I use it in my yogurt that I have at least 5 nights a week. Currently paying $4.29/bar (grocery store is actually cheaper than Wally World for this). Chocolate prices have really gone up the last couple of years because of rising production costs and crop failures.

There might be bigger chocolate bars out for that are less than 100% cacoa, but since I don't use them I don't pay attention.

 

A nice coating of frost this morning.

Well, 99 has been wanting to pull the garden anyway.

Dropped another 4 small ash trees yesterday. CSS and tops burned.

 

Heading to Cape Cod this morning. About 90 miles from my home to the family vacation home. Have some standing dead and some storm damage tree branches that need tending to. Also some indoor electrical troubleshooting and repairs. I'm also going to install a very simple $16- solar motion light inside our 10x12 shed as it has no lighting inside and it's hard to take out the trash when there is no ambient light. The light mounts inside and the small panel 4x4" mounts outside. If it works decent I will post the link at some point.

I wish I could stay longer. I have to be back home early tomorrow afternoon. I have been there through some pretty bad storms over the years. The house has been in the family since 1977. A couple years ago a tornado came through very close by and caused a lot of damage. Even though we missed it by a mile or so, it took a solid day to clean up the mess.

The big issue is the dryer isn't working and I need to figure out if it can be fixed for less than a new one. A new one delivered and installed and the old one removed is very reasonable and probably what I will recommend. We have family staying there right now as they try to find their next home.

I'm sure the tv weather folks will provide more than ample footage of the carnage.

As soon as the traffic slows up, I will be off.

 

Admire that someone in the family preserved that asset for future generations

 

We were there after the 2019 (I think) tornado. Stayed in Hyannis both times.

The traffic is still nuts there that late in the season?

We hit the Sagamore bridge 6pm on the way home and the traffic headed the other way was creeping. It was a Friday of course.

 

And my wife's aunt is one of the three in the house. She's 87 and doing great! Not sure if it will stay in the family after or not. I've invested a lot in this place over the last 10 years when I took over the maintenance. Lots of sweat equity!

They get some crazy weather on the cape. Traffic was light today. I came down I-495 to SR 25 (Bourne Bridge) to SR28 to Falmouth. I barely taped my brakes coming over the bridge. The local traffic seemed heavy when I got off the highway, but it can be funny here. Better than the summer but still busy enough. Once the snow birds head to Florida it gets pretty quiet. I've done the Provincetown to Boston via Route 6 and never had a good time. Seems like someone always finds something to crash into.
