Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia has a state of emergency due to storm damage. My sympathies go out to them.

That takes a tremendous amount of power! I hope there were no physical tragedies. Roads and bridges can be fixed...

Nothing that I've heard of, at least.

Will this be on the longer run or the one to Channel-Port aux Basques?

Port aux Basques for now. The Argentia run is only seasonal, so it's possible she could do it next summer.

Tractor time today. Repaired a washed out trail and did some mowing. Took about 5 hours. My eyes look and feel like they are full of razor blades after all the dust and pollen.

Another road trip tomorrow. Leave the house at 0300. Yuck.

Good evening everyone. Been very busy with the real job and sidework. Installed 860 square feet of hickory flooring this weekend with the apprentice i work with during the week. This afternoon Big Red and I snuck out on the Harley and had lunch with Biker Dave and his wife. Absolutely perfect day for a scooter ride.

20260908_122633.jpg got all the piles tarpped for winter. Almost all of it from two trees. 9 totes from the red oak and 13 from the maple. We had both taken down in February. Plus there's two totes of pine two of mixed wood and a partial of mulberry. All but the oak is for next summer's camping season.

He's not interested if I don't pay him. Since I've been off work all summer got nothing to pay him with. He did climb on top off piles to help with the tarps for free though

Been busy hauling firewood into the basement since it is dry from not raining. Maybe about 4-5 more mini truck loads and I'll be set for the season!

I have encountered 3 yellow jacket nests in the outdoor wood pile so far.....:hair:

This is the 2nd year for burning red oak that was CSS in 2022.

I'm pretty sure those little yellow devils are in my wood as well. So far only a few stings while trimming around it and none while splitting. Next door neighbor have them in her railroad tie retaining wall. Sorry, not a fan of them.
