Hit up the Old Saybrook transfer station this morning. Two red oak rounds and what I think is silver maple, it was much lighter than the red oak. The site won’t let me upload pictures. It’s telling my file size is to big. Same phone I always use.

Hard to leave empty handed. Some nicer logs for a change too.

T Jeff…not a bad idea! I do have a truck bed crane in our shed that I could hook up to the trailer.

    Definitely worth grabbing.

Made a dump run last week. Nothing but brush from what I could see at North Haven.

A couple trips to the compost center to dump the brush from the job I was doing. Not much on the first trip, but a commercial haler shows up and dumps his load of brush with lots of decent red oak pieces in the mix. Couldn't grab any as I was in a hurry and needed the room for the wood at my job.

Made a recycling run yesterday morning. The payloader had just scooped up all the brush etc into the dumpsters.

Dump run yesterday with some demo. Checked out the brush pile. A few rounds of Bradford pear way in back not worth my time.

Dump run this morning to get rid of more demo. Too busy to check out the brush area.

Dump run this morning to get rid of some demo. Walked over to the brush pile and someone had dumped a pile of rotting splits, at least a face cords worth. Some of it was too rotted but some of it was still usable. Decent splits too. Always a sad site for a hoarder.

I have found tossed splits a few times. I take anything that will burn.

There was a lot of decent splits. Good for this year for sure.
