Any feedback on biobricks or similar compressed bricks for woodstoves would be appreciated. I'm going to need more wood this winter. Long story short is time has been very limited for me to scrounge and process the past 2 years and we've been thinking about putting the house up for sale so I didn't really do much scrounging since I wasnt sure if and when the house will go on the market. I'm thinking the biobricks would be a lot easier to store and relocate if needed.
Check out this thread: http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/for...n-dried-hardwood-145-per-cord-central-pa.441/ They are on the other side of Harrisburg from you, but even with shipping it might be cheaper than the equivalent in Biobricks.
I've used the ones from Tractor Supply and they were fine I mixed them in with some splits that weren't green ,but weren't quite ready either
Might want to look into the warranty thing with Regency on using them, I'm going through an ordeal as of now with a warranty issue with Pacific Energy over the use of them. They do void several stove warrantys that I was never aware of. For me the bio bricks and eco blocks worked great mix burning last year when winter dipped hard into the stacks
As Will did. I grabbed two packages from Tractor Supply a year ago to give them a test burn to see how well they would burn. At that time I had the Oslo and I was happy with them. I might do the same thing with the IS and see what it will do. As far as purchasing in bulk I'll stick with the cordwood. If I was in a bind, yes
Your safe with any woodstock stove, I called them last week and was told any of the bricks are fine as long as they don't have any glue or such adhesives. I think the IS will be my replacement stove very soon….
Hey Todd. Keep your eyes open for the posts on the IS performance this season. I'm looking forward to sharing mucho information, and I'm sure some of the other IS owners will do the same.
I bought the Regency second hand which was 10 years old when I bought it 5 years ago. It was sitting in an older guys basement, barely used and they decided to switch over to NG.
Good deal, Was not sure if your Regency was under warranty. thats the way to get a used one not cooked to death
I think I paid $700 for it plus another $900 for a new liner and block off plate. It paid for itself its first winter. This stove owes me nothing
