The blinds I ordered came in on Mon but were damaged. I refused the shipment and the driver was very apologetic. (fedex)

The trouble is, in order to get all the blinds I needed, 2 orders had to be placed Some came from one store, the rest of the quantity came from another store. (the stores had them on clearance)

Still waiting for the remaining quantity to arrive (usps) but according to tracking, it has been sitting in a distribution center for 5 days already.

I was hesitant placing this order and suspected having issues. The way it was explained to me was that if the goods are damaged in shipping, a full refund will be issued but if the delivery is cancelled, a full refund won't be issued. Too bad for me since the shipping fees are twice the amount of a single set of blinds.

I guess it's wait and see until the 2nd order arrives if there has been any damage from shipping......

I know better and just should have bought the blinds from a place that had them in stock. :headbang:

We're coming down to the final back-n-forth with a local window covering business. Hunter Douglas. 12 windows, plus a slider. Looking for better thermal control as well as more room darkening. Additionally , 4 windows will be powered due to difficult access to manual pulls. Those 4 windows are behind the tv. Talk about sticker shock! Finalizing decisions tomorrow at their place.

Another foggy morning. That probably means another muggy day too. Not sure if I can do much today. Time will tell.

Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY. 78⁰/93⁰ fair. Afternoon thunderstorms are a possibility this week. Got a little rain yesterday evening.
Another 6AM-6PM shift of cooking dirt, maybe something good will happen when I get off, we did go up to the saw shed and worked on some chains...ground 3, then set up grinder for rakers, got 1 done, 3 left to do.
    Be blessed, be a blessing

Morning all. Cloud cover is slowly disappearing so it could be quite warm if the westerly doesn't come up.

We got most of the church lawn mowed. There is a section along side the parking lot that didn't get done. There is a construction site across the road and the contractors asked if they could use our parking lot for the duration of construction. We didn't want to weed wack and mow around the vehicles.

Off to visit Mom today. It has been awhile since I have been over there. Our trip interrupted my regular visits.

    Everyone have a great day.

    Good morning, members.

Cloudy skies after some light showers. 65⁰/82⁰ muggy feel. Continued wildfire smoke in the air. Chance of pop-up showers.

I'll take an umbrella on my morning walk.

I'll be off for a long overdue shingles vaccine. I so dislike needles.

Woodwidow :tip: To the Blue jays! They've been kryptonite to the RedSox this year.

Yesterday I made a quick trip to the city and was surprised on the way (I drive all rural roads) and I saw 4 fields of navy beans (we just call them white beans here) that are ripening. Probably One was maybe 25%, one 50% or more with others in between. That means we are not far from combining those; probably 2-3 weeks. Of course soys need much more time. Also in places there are plenty of trees turning color. This is maybe a couple weeks early but it is not unusual for some trees to turn early, especially birch, cherry, cottonwoods and popples. Also sometimes we'll get some red maples turning in late August. It is really nice to see, now if we could get more cooler weather we'd love it even more.

I hate to say it but it would be nice if the Blue Jays got one sweep this year. I didn't think they had any but I looked it up and they swept the Athletics in the first series played and like you said, kryptonite to the Red Sox in June. The Jays have their backs against the wall if they want to be in the playoffs.

Morning all. Heavy overcast this morning. Possibility of rain - more like sprinkles.

Visit went well but short. Ferry was running late which would mean I don't have to get down to catch it back at the regular time. Not according to Mom. She starts about 45 mins before the regular leaving time about telling me I have to get down to the ferry. All her life, she has been on time or a bit early for everything. Dad figured if you got there in time to drive on the ferry and not wait in line, you were early enough.

Summer traffic has been quite heavy as people are coming to Vancouver Island and exploring all the adjoining islands instead of vacationing in the interior of BC due to the wildfire smoke. 20,000 people have been evacuated from towns. Cattle, crops and structures have all been lost. It has been a horribly summer for them.
