This person's woodyard nirvana...kinda....sorta

I got the larger pieces cut to length and staged ahead of Truckaa arriving.


It was a quick load and empty in his pickup.


I then loaded up the sawbuck with limbwood.




And the rest of the score



My back said WTH, so i listened to it. Hoping to some stacking and splitting Tuesday am.

As always, I'm appreciative of Truckaa for his assist!!

 

Tree service showed up this morning for the rest of the dead ash.

Some good looking firewood. Nice that the meat is still good on it.

Needs to be cut to length, then determine the effort walking the stuff uphill. Maybe split where it is and my 2-wheeler to pull it up.

 

Another relatively cool morning, so I got after it.

Then, I flipped rounds end to end up the hill


There were a few dead RO branches that were cut down.


I added to the pile from the fallen ash branches


There's still some to move uphill, I did pull most back from the street. Never know when a hoarder is in the area.




I'm happy with my effort. Further processing will take place when schedule and air allow.

After dealing with some yahd chores, I dug out the x27 and eyed the ash rounds.

I got 17 splits from the 1st one.


Split off an edge piece, spin round, split off another.




This was just to see what's on front of me.

I might have been able to split in half with wedge-n-sledge. Either way works.

I'll be rolling them to a better, wider area nearby. It's easier for me to move around them, than spinning them.

 

I took advantage of reasonable humidity and cloud cover, before the rains start.

After splitting a couple of rounds yesterday, I decided it was best to halve them. So,wedge-n-sledge time.


Then, I cut some limb wood.

While I'm in no hurry to finish it all, I, as most, like to see forward progress.

It was stackin' time. Then some splitting and more stackin'





It's mostly ash, with some dead RO limbs cut to length.

With a couple days of rain on it, it'll get covered once the sun and winds can dry or off a bit.

 

There was a RO branch that decided to give up its fight with gravity. It came down a few days ago, but it wasn't until yesterday that I spotted it. It fell along the side street side of the property.

It's under the mess of dried leaves.

Indeed we both heard it. Last Sunday, windows open. I knew what it was, just didn't see it right away.

We'll probably have what's left of that RO taken down when we have one more dead ash taken down.

 

Nice air = wooding.

I got back to cleaning up the RO branch.





Using the van made it so much easier.

Maybe split-n-stack tomorrow morning.

It's possible. I'm happy to have that also.

It'll be more obvious once I get around to splitting it, when the air mass changes.

 

Yeah not the most ideal conditions to make firewood in. Ill have todays load to split tomorrow and more to cut this week. I can deal with "normal" Summer humidity (whatever that is) but when the dew point is over 70 I tend to hide in the AC!
