I would have said, if you want this gone, then you can help. And in my mind I would have put the term jacka$$ after the sentence. Or maybe I would have said it out loud, one never knows.

He clearly seems to think he is doing you the favor. I’d be hard pressed to return for the rest

You did right thing, you didn’t accept a job, no monies were traded. You agreed to provide free labor to remove debris; that you wanted to use. It will be 100° today. No Way for Boxelder!!

cutting the tree down is the fun and easy part; clean up and processing it are the work

We processed the boxelder from this CL score today. About half a cord. I have done boxelder before without issue. It must have been younger stuff in the past. This stuff was more gnarly than any elm ever. Grain going 3 different ways in a round. Glad I didn't get more. Lots of shorts, uglies, and chunks will all burn.

    Any pics?

Ive only scored BE once and wasnt that impressed with the way it processed. From the trees I've seen it doesn't seem to grow that straight.

In the past the stuff I've done wasn't great, but not unreasonable to process. No pics. Not a pro with pics like you are, and with the current state of things, probably not the time for me to start.

mebbe yooperdave can give you some pointers on "good" photography!

The one thing I liked about BE is how fast it dried even in a shaded stack. The flaming red grain is cool too. Would like to mill it sometime.

Interesting. I’ve processed 2 BE’s. Both were a dream to work up, from sawing to splitting.

The nice thing about posting blurry pics now, I can blame it all on the smoke from the Canadian fires! :handshake: :p
