How long you been at that? I finally got an engine installed after having it rebuilt and on a stand for over 3 years. I did that along with detailing the bay, installing a new exhaust and a new clutch. Many hours spent, and dollars.
69 rs very nice my brother has one. I've been working on it for about 7 months now the body was in bad shape had to build a lot of panels. We don't have a lot of money in it as we have ran it for along time so reused a bunch of parts.
Very nice guys! I always drempt of building a Cobra kit car. Factory five or other... But I'd want a real 427 side oiler.... Hasn't happened due to lack of time space and funding. Maybe someday.
I want to build the same thing someday jharkin. The motor is a 355 ci Chevy with a 6-71 blower topped off with a dominator. Horsepower should be 550 to 600.
That puts you into the 10/gal race fuel category, yes? The engine I had done was built to about 360 hp. Plenty enough to get to 25mph down main street.
We run premium pump gas mostly. The motor is built with low compression at at our boost level final cr is about 13:1 so keep the timing backed off some it works good.

What is the deal with the red/white stripes on the firewall of the Ford? Is the sheet metal done to look like that or is it a natural patina? Love that look. I saw a GMC Apache (I think?) pickup, early 50s, at a shop recently. It was purchased at auction from the state of Alabama. It spent its' life as a prison service truck and had the "Alabama State Penitentiary" on the doors. Too cool.
