I don't have a coat closet either. I have three 4x2.5' closets. Technically, I guess I have a second closet in the room I use for a n office (what they used for a dining room). It is a 3.5x3' step up closet that is over the stairs (it is behind the chimney in the kitchen). By step up, I mean the first step is knee high, and the second step is the same. It contains the attic access door.

Stupid place for it and you can only use that access basically to see if the roof is still attached. Ain't getting anything useful in thru the 2x2 trap door. But by the same token, not useful as a closet either. Men couldn't design chit for houses back then

The humidity finally showed up this week. It's been nice all spring/early summer and then we are getting all the nasty all at once. I worked up a good sweat this morning just dropping the ramps on the trailer, unstrapping the tractor, and unloading it...less than 5 minutes and I had sweat dripping off my nose. Gross.

I need to fix a couple things on the tractor and it sure will be nice in the shop with AC this year.

There have been numerous discussions on here about moving air during heating season. Our living room is a dead end off the dining room where the wood stove sits. We set a fan on the floor in the living room. blowing cold air toward the stove and it helps a lot. Our downstairs AC is in a window next to the wood stove. Same dead end situation. Last year I used the same fan but reversed the direction it was blowing during AC season. Huge improvement in the living room. We are realizing the benefits tonight.

It is absolutely brutal outside....ones of those days where you sweat sitting still in the shade.

 

8 pm here and it's still 92°. Gonna be a rough week here working outside and on the roof.

High temperatures and humidity levels shouldn't affect someone as naturally cool as you Dennis. Be careful out in the heat buddy.

 

Our home farm has one of the tallest barns around (hard to get people willing to work on the roof, due to being super steep on the first section, and the overall height) and being in the peak of the roof mowing hay/straw is one of my worst memories of doing hay as a kid...that, and the neighbor that made 80 lb small square bales with his JD baler...hated them things!

 

My 16 YO son is about to head out and put up a couple hundred bales of alfalfa...heat index is already 97 and will probably go up 10 more degrees before he gets to the loft. I told him he's going to build some character today.

 

He's gonna flush out some pores too! And learn about evaporative cooling
