Today was a putzy project day. Got some lawn mowed, sprayed some Roundup and 24D. Just spot sprayed. Had to modify my boom on my ATV sprayer so it clears the open tailgate on the new Honda. Then used the last of my JB Weld on my wife’s free camp axe. Dug out some rotten wood and had just enough JB. The other night was my first full dark run on the new Honda. At top speed (47 mph) the OEM headlights did not inspire much confidence. At low speeds they seemed sufficient. So I dug out a set of Mondo LED lights I had on 2008 Kawasaki Versys motorcycle. I traded the bike away but kept the lights. Found a likely location on the roll cage where there was already a bolt so put em on the Honda today. Gonna have to do a night run again to see if I have any improvement. So far so good,,
ROAD TEST OEM only LED only OEM and LED together My eyes may be 68 years old but I do see some improvement. I forget to take a pair of 10mm wrenches along so I gotta do this again tomorrow night to make some aiming adjustments

I’ve seen 3 fawns so far this year. One dead in the road where a bald eagle and a turkey vulture were having a loud discussion over ownership. One at the cabin in our back yard nursing its mother. And today on my walk this afternoon I was attacked by fawn #3. I heard hooves clicking on the road behind me and here he comes. He huddled between my legs for a good 30 seconds panting and shaking like a leaf on a tree. It started licking sweat off my kneecap and then here comes a car. So I picked him up and got him off the road into my woods and gave him a swift kick in the you know what to keep him from following me. He didn’t. It was a buck I turned him over to verify this. unbelievable
We just spent three days at the cabin and when we got home there was a package in the drive. Wife says oh must be my birthday present. umm Had to think fast no hun it’s a tool I really needed. I felt the earth move under my feet the other day. Kitty corner from our rural house is a working gravel pit. They lit off some fertilizer soaked in diesel fuel. They drilled holes for about a week prior,, The operator rents a crusher cuz his are old and break down often. Paying rent on an hour meter is “cheaper than buying a new one” he told me
And home from 6 days in the Black Hills. Our grandson is a wonderful little man. But he tires us out! Squint and you might see Rushmore. One night 3 buffalo bedded right beside our cabin. South Dakota Fish and Game was keeping track of them. Last month a tourist got between a cow and calf and the tourist is no longer breathing. So the rangers are a little jumpy. A Packer fan and two Viking fans in the same household. Our daughter breaths green and gold.
Black Hills is one of my favorite spots in our nation. One summer, I visited it three times! The roads seems to have been designed with motorcycles in mind. I'm betting you never even got bit by a bug while there! If you look closely, you can see trout in most any stream. Tourists........... Tourists=tourons!
Spent a wonderful 4 days up at our cabin but some work was done. I trailered the Honda with my sprayer up to kill some poison ivy on my son’s building site. Then I reloaded and killed some dandelions and thistles on the cabin grounds. Wife really enjoyed bombing around the hood up there on the Honda. I am a sucker for axes. Scored a $2 double bit with a broke off handle at our neighbors garage sale. I say false advertising stamped into the steel is “De Luxe 3 1/2” but I got 4? Gonna put a 36” handle on her work up the edge and call it complete.
What product did you use to kill the ivy? I spryaed some with spectricide and it took 3 days before for visible effect.
Gordon’s Hard To Kill Brush Killer. Sold at Farm n Fleet and some farm hardware stores. I have used this on ivy for years and it just plain works. It has 3 ingredients: Garlon 4, Dicamba, and 2-4D. It takes 30 days for a complete death but it IS a complete death. It really smokes any woody material in my woods ie buckthorn. honey suckle. mulberry, thistles, burdock etc but the best part is it does not harm grass. I think the label says it controls nearly 80 broadleaf species. $80 a gallon not cheap but who cares if it works,,,

I will add to kill Mulberry one has to use a surfactant. Mulberry leaves are so shiny the spray just runs right off onto the ground. Product just does not stick. I buy Canola oil at Walmart it is a GREAT cheap surfactant.
