That's where more trigger time on the saw was needed. Which for me is the best part of the whole deal. :saw:

Not sure what you mean by unaided? If I recall correctly this one was started by an ATV, probably 4 years ago. The one they had this year was a controlled burn that flared back up 2 days later. Not a lot of timber left in the 96,000 acres. Only a 1/3 or a little better was trees. The fire this year was 30,ooo acres.

and yes mostly hauling pine logs, some cedar.

Was supposed to be un-alived. The word D e a d throws flags sometimes.

I started reading your other post after this one.

Ohh ok, so yes, fire killed pine.
I thought about starting another whole thread about the log hauling. But If’n I get 2 more trailer loads out today I’m gonna call it good, at least for now. Still many piles available

It used to be touted as “ the largest hand planted forest in the country” (maybe it was world, not sure now).
It encompasses approximately 96,000 acres. Of that approximately 1/3 was considered forested or trees. Now,….. not so much after the last 2 good burns.
It was planted mostly back in the CCC ( civilian conservation corps) days. 1930s I believe.
So yeah, “FOREST” is kinda a relative term in this case
