Soooooo many out there now! What is the best value? Some are the price of lunch and some only the government would buy. Will be used on a scary as chit radial arm saw. The motor is a 2 pole 7 1/2 HP 220v 3ph. My power is a high 208, 219 actually 3ph and I would like 3ph input. I'd like to eliminate the DC disk brake on the motor. So it would need to dump the heat from braking a rather high inertia load (around 4 1/2 minutes to coast to stop). Something nema 12 or equivalent would be great but I can deal with nema 1. Be able to interface with existing 3 wire ss. Be able to be disconnected from power and self reset. I'm a few years since my last hunt for one. Any schooling would be appreciated. Thanks Keith
4.5 minutes to coast to a stop...really?! How much does this blade weigh?! You might want to check into using the braking that heavily, I've heard that can cause electrical scalloping on the motor bearings. Check out the Rockwell 525 VFD...a solid unit for the money.
I'm sure the bearings, built in 96 are totally dry. Not sure on the weight of the blade it's the original one from 96. It is 18" diameter and the plate is .200". I need to look at the brake that's on it, a bit of love and some feeler gauges should get it working. Liked the idea of soft start and reducing sfpm.
