Every county in MI has water problems including lots of flooding. Also, every county in the state has flood watches or warnings. Dams are bursting. One county reports every road in the county is under water. The heavy rains we got overnight will only make it worse plus more of the same predicted for the next 2 days and nights.

This can also be a big problem if you gotta go quickly:

I opened my garage refrigerator yesterday to find 2 beers that had spent the winter in it. I cleaned the fridge and stocked it, setting those 2 apart. They should be ok but I'm still going to sip cautiously at first.

Thanks for the reminder. Our tax due day is April 30. Our youngest daughter who started off in corporate taxes wanted to know why her birthday was the day before the tax deadline. She was always so busy working on her birthday. Some things you just can't plan.

If this rain keeps up, I’m going to have a lake front home…. But I live 1/3 mile from the lake… usually.

I had a very strange dream last night.

My mom hired a guy to do some construction work (that in itself is odd, she can't afford to pay him, and she lives with me in my house).
The guy was delivered to the house, and he was asleep or unconscious, maybe tranquilized. He was sat up, in this condition, on the kitchen island. I then recognized him, and he was a serial killer.

I got a little nervous and advised mom that since he was a serial killer, we should probably not keep him, and instead return him before he wakes up and becomes aware of us. After a brief conversation, she agreed. I then, however, considered keeping his expensive tools, and though the temptation was strong, after some time my morals, along with the fact that he was a serial killer, overcame the urge and I loaded the tools into a car, along with the man himself (still in an unconscious "vegetable" state), and got behind the wheel to return him. Somewhere along the way, I woke up.

The weirdest thing was, I had a vague notion of danger if he should emerge from this unconscious state, but as long as he remained in this state, I thought of him like an object. He was delivered much like a parcel, and sat on the kitchen island like a corpse. I can't remember where I was returning him to, but I felt that if I got him dropped off there before he woke, he would be unaware of us and therefore we would be safe.

WIWAK, my family lived 7 miles from McConnel AFB and Boeing was right next to it. We always got to see big birds flying overhead. Not so much choppers though. I lived there for 12-13 years.

Then in the early 80's, before moving to NH, the Ex and I lived 2 miles from Beach and we could hear and/or see the smaller planes all the time.

I still like to stop and watch any type of plane, even when they are high overhead

Seen this guy go over the other day, twice...first time they were headed SW at a slow steady rate, 2-3 hrs later was back NE, but at a more normal faster rate. IMG_20260415_125237358.jpg

Yeah. We loved seeing all the planes. I'll never forget the first time we saw that plane (can't think of the name right now) that flew like a plane but could land or take off like a helicopter. Also the guys sitting in the doorway of the choppers with their feet hanging out. They always waved to us ad they flew by. This was ab out 25 years ago.
