Sorry, I've never done a cat muzzle before so can't tell you which work well. I've only ever had to bathe one of my cat (Rita, the all white cat) and she tolerated it. I've also been able to trim nails on all my cats (except Lila). I did bathe and trim nails of cats when I groomed, but those were well handled cats with varying degrees of spiciness.

In a Google search it looks like there are two main types for home use; a soft face guard that blocks their sight as the main deterrent, or a clear "ball" over their head. I can see a sight blocking one being good as they wouldn't know where to attack with claws. But, some cats will just go wild at that point. OTOH, a clear ball would allow them to see where to use claws, if they were so inclined.

I think the another issue to take into consideration would be if you are able to get it on them in the first place. I'm thinking something like this might be the easiest to get on a cat (reviews are varied so I'm not necessarily saying that particular one). I can't imagine Lila allowing me time to get a cloth one on her, and she was able to take off the small plastic cone the vet installed after her spay (on the way home) so I'm am leery about a closure system that relies on a strap behind the neck.

Thank you, we never used them at the Humane Society either. On fiesty or mean cats one restrains and another did what needed to be done. Other trick was we'd turn the sink on at a dribble and that would make some still lol. I used to be able to bathe him, had his paws in my left and and bathed with my right, but, started the mouth on fingers/thumb nonsense :picard: I'm sure we can easily get either muzzle oh him once. Once. Going to try the cloth one first.

I just want her to feel better. Rationalizing, $1200 self pay allergist visit is still a fraction of $2700/mon Obamacare

Dealing with rotary mowers today. While dropping off the 9 footer for blade replacement, i saw a nice Land Pride category 1 for my BX. The big mower was a smaller adventure unloading than the loading debacle, but it is home as well. Now to mow the neglected areas from last year, but ahead of the prime nesting season.

Winds are S and SE since I noticed the ceiling fans on the covered deck are rotating.

Here's a weird one I haven't seen before. Any ideas? Not sure how that position works for reproductive purposes.

The ticks are out in force right now. I was in the woods for 2 hours this morning and have already found 6 on me.

Yes. One of my employees had to have both of his kids get tubes surgically put in. Both were really young when it was done. Like 2-3 years old each.

That's the wild thing, when she was little she did not have ear troubles beyond a couple ear infections with cold/flu which is expected (compared to those poor kids with frequent ear infections that get tubes). WWW thinks it started when we got our Burmese cat (her favorite thing in this world). I think this started a few years later. She was ~5 when we got him and I don't recall her suffering like this til she was 11.

Off to the Allergist we go as soon as they call to schedule from the referral. I just ordered a muzzle for the cat to start bathing him again, somewhere along the line he got cantankerous and I gave up bathing him. WAIT, suppose that is when her allergies/ears started having issues. I suck, lets see if this helps when it arrives next week.

You could try reflexology. It's the sort of ailment that might respond well to that treatment. It sounds odd that rubbing certain parts of your feet helps to cure ailments, but it has worked for me. If you don't want to take her to a reflexologist and pay a fee you could buy a manual and have a go yourself. I've had this book for many years, but there are many more available.

You can see where the reflex point for the eustachian tube is in that image. One on each foot, in the same place, for the left and right tubes. Just massage those points gently but firmly once or twice a day for a few days. You might be surprised at the results.
