But lower might make it easier to get in and out. With me, I have to be higher or quit driving. Yesterday I tried to get into a low car and it about tore up my back both getting in and worse getting out.

I wonder if I can do some more outdoor work today? I'm really itching to start one of the saws.

    Never!

I know exactly what you felt getting in and out of that low car!

With my back, I have to try getting in and out of a vehicle before I even consider buying it.

Surprisingly, the 2005 corolla does have easy in and out. It was my first consideration.

I did try a lower vehicle (can't remember exactly what it was) but I must have looked like a turtle on it's back trying to get out of it after I pretty much fell into it! The owner of the dealership was trying to help me get out....no thanks-I don't need anyone pulling on me to get me out faster!

Well, we were gonna pick up a new vehicle for 99 today but it's been delayed another couple of days.

Because of the extra wait-about 3 1/2 weeks- we asked that they compensate something extra for our consideration.

Those "extras" have to be ordered.

I should have taken a pic of the robin I saw a few days before our most recent blizzard.

Same scenario. There was a bare patch of ground that the wind had swept clear of snow along the lake shore but surrounded by almost two feet of snow!

I'd say today is a great day to do outside work.

Like you and yooperdave , they are hard for me to get in/out of. I test drove a Ford Focus in the early 2000's Also, bucket seats that use length instead of height wreck me. I need to drive like sitting on an old folding chair, not recliner. That said beggers can't be choosers, I will adjust to driving a vehicle in my $5K price range. Why are used pickups priced so insanely high?!? Is it my area?

My ID came in the mail last week for legal stuff, phew! Called the DMV and I am down to #20 (from the waiting list of 75) for road test.

Thoughts? Shopping for a vehicle <$5K. Keep in mind we have small selection without the time and diesel fuel$ to shop elsewhere. WWW likes this. I drove a 99' for several years so I'm familiar as well as the interior controls, dash, heat/A/C etc. are the same my Duramax now.

Other fear I have is this is the same corner car dealer that sold the FJ Cruiser for us with bum catalytic convertors is selling this one too....

Carfax attached and I'll see if I can attach the facebook ad.

Why doesn't the mileage in the ad match the carfax...way different...is the vin on the carfax actually for that vehicle?

Additionally, the carfax and ad say 2003, the tag under the hood says 2004.
I'd ask for a pic of the vin/data tag on the door post, and the dash, see what it shows, and if vins all match, and match carfax

Dennis, scroll down to the bottom of the picture and there are other photos there of the rest of the vehicle. WWW took it for a test drive yesterday.

I'll have WWW double check the VIN.

Mileage, looks like 197K was the last time it was recorded before last owner bought it and drove it another 23K miles before trading it in? I wonder what "over" means in pic of the title ?

The year discrepancy didn't spook me, both my 2000 Jeep Cherokee and WWW's 2014 silverado were the same, brand new right off the dealership lot. Sold as that "model year" or other sticky words though built/began being built the year before. IMG_20260329_123523.jpg

Yes. He did right by us selling the FJCruiser "as is" Husband see's it as we are all friendly and have been for like a decade, (he also reupholstered the drivers seat in my Blazer), and as he shared with us on the FJ transaction, that he makes like $4-$500 per sale, not out to fleece anyone, which I believe too. I did a lot of googling on him this morning and found no complaints, rather, only a few complimentary posts about him. Idk Dave, WWW has his eyes set on it. And if he buys it cross my fingers it serves us well til our future brightens up.

As long as it's clean that should be pretty decent. That should be the 4l60e tranny. Should be good, that's before gm forgot how to make v8 engines and reliable transmissions. Others have mentioned the year and mileage discrepancies. I wouldn't let that stop you from buying it. The driver's seat shows all 200k. Easy to fix that though. Buddy looks great, but that's Wyoming for you.

    TYVM!

I know you know an incredible amount of info on vehicles and I appreciate you sharing that with me :)

PS, I was in a boot for weeks after a broken bone in my foot, got into a bad habit of swinging the booted leg around to take steps and ended up with a lot of hip pain. If your wife can avoid that hopefully her hip doesn't do what mine did. How is your Bride doing?
