Yeah I guess I didn't word that the best...it's not a "small" plane, like a Cessna, but not one of the big boys either.
But my whole point of small vs big was that he thought a larger plane would maybe have been high enough that the cockpit would not have been directly into the side of the firetruck (large airport style truck...not a city firetruck) so the pilots could have possibly survived?
My buddy flys the 737 now.
He started out flying "bush planes" for missions organizations years ago...big difference!

Right on. My dad had an 87 2wd. Cab was dark blue, bed was light blue, doors were green, tailgate was red...

It is not unusual for me to be on a 2x1 seating jet for at least one of the three legs when I'm trying to get to Wichita. And the rest of the time I am on the 2x2 planes. Southwest is the only time I'm on a 737 and they quit servicing what I need in the 20teens until just this last Christmas trip. So in my mind, a 2x2 jet is pretty darn big - and is tall enough you can actually use a regular jetway to load/disembark - LOL.

There's a directional drilling crew outside installing fiber lines today. I never thought we'd see that on a rural dead-end road, but I'm glad they're here. Our cable internet sucks so we'll probably end up making the switch.

My EXPLORER is 2018. My sister and BIL have Escapes and I can ask them about the years they have. Sis bought hers and they loved it so much BIL got one the next year or two (I think he got the sports package or something like that). I have driven Sis's when I have been back visiting and seems pretty good. Just not the room I'm used to and the seats are different - which has everything to do with my own perceptions and nothing to do with the vehicle itself.

My wife's daughter has an Escape and it has been a terrible vehicle (Maybe just a Lemon)...They have replaced the Engine and the Transmission (At dealer, spent a fortune), Not sure how this is possible with a new engine, but now the turbo is apparently bad.

I'm starting to believe there has been nothing built in the last 7-8 years worth owning! (Automotive wise)

I'm on that same train of thought. Before you just had to steer clear of a couple of cars/ drivetrains. Now there's only a few that are good. Maybe.

My sister and our neighbor bith have escapes. Both needed new engines before 70,000 miles. My sister's needed a new rear differential in the first 10,000. Transmission was replaced at some point as well.

The thing that gets me is that it's not new technology that is causing problems...it's the fact that they've managed to foul up old technology!
I mean heck, we've known how to make durable cams n cranks for what, 100 years plus?! Even with turbos! I had a 1986 Cougar turbo coupe...no issues!
Now it seems like nobody can make cams/lifters/cranks that last much past warranty...if even that long!
And don't get me started on transmissions...:hair:
