40/68. Burning some oak. Down to about a tote and a half left for this year I think. Spring is on the way!

Raining like crazy past few days. Had a small fire of Doug fir and misc. cleanup scraps yesterday to drive off the damp and the house ended up too warm to sleep well. 49* last night headed for 56* this afternoon. No fire today although it is supposed to drop back into the high 30's tonight. The back wall of the woodshed is visible on this years half of the woodshed. Only about 2 weeks worth of firewood left on this side! Should work out just about right!

85 today. I think I'm actually done burning for the year. Next 10 days we have 2 days forecast in the 60's and the rest in the 70's and 80's. Stay warm and careful.

It's getting warm out, even if for only a couple of days. 54° out now.

    Ash coals in the quadrafire.

    29.

I would like it a bit warmer but not like it is in the SW. I see that heat is spreading so maybe it will warm up here. Seeing more and more spring birds. More sandhill cranes this year than we'd been seeing. Huge flocks in the fields. Also in one place a couple days ago I probably saw 50 robins.

    34.

Been having fires only in the morning the last three days now. Inside temps have been 70-71 at bedtime; no need for a fire.

Nothing burning now. There's probably some coals left from last night's rechooch of ash. 56° outside.

I used the heat from the prior fire before last night to make naan bread and have it rise on to of the nearly 100 ° stove top. This quadrafire insert doesn't have the full cook stove top, but it works well for getting bread to rise.

I wish I could trade you a little heat for some of your cooler temps. Just a little mind you. Not the full blown northern effect.
