Yesterday morning I cleaned up the several inches of snow and ice that fell overnight. Wanted to get it off the driveway and paths before it warmed up to 50* here too. Just before dark, almost the rest of the east side of my roof cleared. It's been holding onto a couple feet of snow in some places as it accumulated since Mid January. 3 solar panels literally have had zero production because of that. Rain, sleet and snow expected all of today, so probably won't produce anything today either.

Temps hit 70ºF today. Got to shut the stove down and open the winders for a bit. Kitties were enjoying the catio for a little while and didn't want to come back in. Had to bribe them with some treato's of they'd still be out there!!

Brodie and momma went out to play some stick fetch and do a little bird watching. The Grackels cowbirds and red wings are here. Saw a few robins out on the lawn where tha white stuff has melted. we know this is only fake spring, But surely did enjoy it.

I had some windows open for a while also yesterday. Cooler today and then it's downhill for a while.

Stoves have hardly run for the last couple of days, which is nice because I ran thru the first 3+ tons at an alarming rate. I have 2 unopened tons in the garage and only 1 bag in the basement, so I will be getting my exercise soon to get some in the basement.

Was able to close the door between the basement and the garage at the end of last week, which cuts way down on what the basement stove has been consuming. Since then, the lowest temp it has gotten in there is 38*. Yesterday I opened the overhead garage door for several hours to let the warm air in. But with the ground still frozen, except the top 1" or so (just a coating of mud in the pathways, even with all the melting going on), the cinderblock foundation is still throwing plenty of cold back into the garage once the door is closed.

I'm surprised with how fast its melted we didn't have that much mud and just a few weepers in the basement. I was a bit worried we'd have a pond down there. So far so good. No hip waders needed!!

Got hammered with a bunch of snow and wind. So far over 30 inches, but it's still snowing for the next 24 hours. With the wind there's 4-5ft drifts everywhere.

Haven't seen a country plow yet, my road and many others are impassable. Country plow trucks are getting stuck. Highways and M- roads along with others are shut down.

It's going to get cold for a few days, lows around zero with -15 wind chills. On the plus side we didn't get any ice and have power.
