Need my drivers license for IRS records and other. FINALLY got in today. 4 attempts over the last several weeks, either it was a 4 hour wait or so full already they turned people away.

Got there and door was locked "due to staffing shortage we are closed from 11- 1:30 every day. Waited but got in and passed the written test. Asked WWW to tidy truck for driver's road test. I was then told they don't have a road test driver for now and I was put on a waiting list as #75. (keep in mind just getting this far took almost 2 hours). She said they hope to get to it in 6 weeks. :headbang: 6 weeks for my driver's road test!?!, then another 6 weeks for the real card to come in the mail :hair:

I said I have to have a photo ID to access IRS so I then did the ID paperwork and was handed and black and white copier paper and told I could expect my ID card in the mail in 4-6 weeks.

Crap, all this stuff needs to be done yesterday and I'm stuck.

Several of our areas had record highs yesterday. The capitol missed a record as it only hit 71* and the record was 72* (set in late 1800's). I saw a couple of types of bees out in my yard. One was a smaller, thinner bee near my truck and I decided to close the windows so it wouldn't go in there and get trapped. The other was almost like a smallish yellow jacket that was buzzing around me, probably since I had a light green shirt on.

Can hear the river running pretty good this morning - it has been super low since last summer (never recovered from drought). From the sounds of it, it isn't any where near where it should be getting to during a good thaw like this. Saw a report from Littleton, NH yesterday (northern, NH in the Whites) and it showed almost no snow. I have more snow than they do. Hopefully the mountains got more snow than the town so when real spring appears, the river will have a good run to flush out silt and sludge.

Paths in the yard are getting wider, but still have a decent snow pack - depending on which side of the house I'm on. These are from the south side which get the most sun

This is pretty interesting with that bare spot close to the house since it is under the roof dumpage area. It is one of the sunniest areas and probably has help from the basement pellet stove exhaust

This was basically false Spring #2 and today is expected to be cooler with the temps sliding the rest of the week. Depending on the weather models, there will be rain, freezing rain, and/or snow.

Heck, you would have been better off telling them you just immigrated here and didn't understand English completely yet....probably would have walked out of there with a CDL!

Those Marine Travel Lifts are crazy. A company I used to work for makes the hydraulics for these.

Got more rain today...up to almost 6" so far this month, and there's a lot of March left to go.

High yesterday was almost 80. Grass is really greening up, honeysuckle bushes are starting to push off leaves, and I noticed a couple magnolia trees starting to bloom today.

Forecast low for Monday night is 14. Hopefully my fruit trees don't try to bloom in the next couple days.

Nothing but white around here. Lots and lots of snow left. I did have a bare spot on the front lawn and also a major portion of the driveway had melted to gravel but those are long gone and won't be back for some time.

    Blizzard moving in this weekend.

I know what we'll be doing in the U.P. :D

Good morning everyone. I like to call this photo morning sunrise over Cat D5. Should be a decent day here at the country club. Stay safe folks. 20260313_073159.jpg

Wild ride here the last 2 weeks, winds have been crazy. Lost power the other day, came back on for a couple hours than out again, came on sometime last night thankfully. I used to woodstove for brewing coffee 3 times, I appreciated it because I need my fix but grateful to have the coffee maker tasting coffee again this morning.

We now have permanent sand dunes in the same place the winter snow drift blobs that cover 1/2 acre usually come and go from. Our front-yard/driveway is a beach. The sand/silt/dirt blowing has been insane, it's like when you hear sheets of rain hitting the window/house only it's sand and dirt. And a bit unsettling because it blocks the sun.

I have anthills of microscope dirt that's blown in through windows and doors all over the entire house, alot more on the wind damaged sliding glass door wall.

This 109 mile gust was here. I'm so grateful the sliding glass door wall took it. An invisible force hits like a wall agains the house. Several neighbors have roof damage.

Last night WWW made a veggie stew and rolls (frozen) from things we have here on the wood stove, it was delicious. Played cards by candlelight.
