Another future project arrived on Friday,same Seller in Erlanger,KY I got the 1-61 gear drive,Power Mac 6 Automatic runners & 1-70 direct drive cheap project from in August/September - McCulloch 3-10E sold from June 1966 to September 1967.One more in their 54cc "10-Series" of saws sold from 1965 to 1982ish.The 3-10E was the world's FIRST gasoline powered portable saw with battery pack & push button electric start.Also can be started the normal way by pulling the starter rope.The battery pack is missing on this,as is usual,but I hope to find one soon,either a working or non working one.If non working,I can have it rebuilt with modern NiH batteries from Interstate Batteries or Batteries Plus for $50-60 or so..... Great compression,very clean for age.The original 16" bar,scabbard & original literature are worth $20-25 easily. Should be an easy fix.Just take some time searching/waiting for a battery pack.But I'm a patient man.

They did have another electric start model around the same time - 5-10E,70cc model.Dont know if anyone else did it later.Also that recent Oregon Power Sharp system for certain models of consumer/homeowner saws isnt new either - McCulloch had a similar setup in the early-mid 70's. Don't think it sold well,cause it didn't last long.
I bought a saw or 2 from a fellow who had a 5-10E, may need to revisit. Poulan built quite a few saws with the Power Sharp feature, I have several ranging from a 25 to a 245.
I guess the guy in the video never got the memo on the dangers of running an internal combustion engine inside...
I want an electric start saw now You'd think someone would offer it with today's improved batteries...
That's a pretty nifty setup. I'm betting its bit heavy for the power but the push button starts are impressive.
