I had an appointment for 4 tires yesterday. Got there, and they had sent the wrong tires!

"These are the ones you ordered"

"No, they're close but not the ones I ordered."

"But look, the price on them came down so they're even cheaper"

"That's because they are not the ones I ordered"

I had seen the cheaper ones but they had poor reviews for driving in snow.

    Back to searching for tires.........:picard:

Taking a half day off work. Busy day. Going to pick up some hay, meeting my fence guy about adding some more fence out at the property, son's basketball game this evening. Maybe make it the lumber yard, but that's probably optimistic for getting done today.

Picked up another project yesterday...need to shorten some church pews. It's one of those things that, in theory, I should be able to do no problem but, in reality, I have no idea how to do. I'll figure it out...usually do.

Got another set ordered. We'll see how this one delivers next week. Completely different brand this time.

Purging overdue old clothes. Threadbare (mine), too small (kiddo) and ripped or torn or impossibly stained (me and WWW). I'm down down to my favorite heavy flannel shirt from 1992'ish that the cuffs are hanging on by threads. Woodwidow coached me on interfacing but it went into storage shortly after and did not show up again this week. I know I should toss. But I love it. Too comfy soft and warm.

How dumb, I need arms covered but my hands are the most vulnerable regarding
Raynauds and the flipping cuffs that I used to cover them are pretty much gone.

Third Spring has left us unfortunately. We went from -16° to 60° and sunny in a 3 week time span. Snowed most the day yesterday and 20's for highs arriving Monday. Roller-coaster weather. Im ready for it to be over.

    Nothing wrong with old clothes.

I have an old sturgis t-shirt that has holes in it. Over 30 years old....just can't seem to part with it.

I had a couple old jackets; one carhart and one woolrich that I finally threw out (at the urging and promise of new replacements). I had whip stitched the woolrich a few times....it looked like the frankenstein of wool jackets! The carhart was all stained, thread bare and frayed. It was what I used for firing up the OWB for years.

Both of those jackets were hand-me-downs from the 50's!!!!

Good they were able to patch it. I can't tell if its liability or a desire to sell more tires, but I'm more often told they won't patch it, even in the tread zone.

And it doesn't have all the diesel smog stuff nor does it have two dozen modules or require a scanner to change the light bulbs.

That's a crazy amount of rain! Did you have any damage afterwards?
We had days of rain to the point where I used the tractor with back blade to make a berm to divert the water from the house. I'm happy it is only rain. Up the hill where we used to live my neighbors have 3' of snow and no power for the last five days.

Old stuff was better made, with care, from good quality materials, by people who knew what they were doing.

I bet a Carhartt jacket made today will not last 70 years.

Honestly, bring it on. I'm mentally prepared for steady snowfall until late March.

For the first time in my life, I'm genuinely happy to see snow coming. I don't want another summer as dry as last year.
