This is great, both entertaining and educational. I just looked and haven’t been here since October. My side hustle turned full time. Wife and son work full time and I’m 6 or so hours on my normal work days and whatever on my days off.

That's great to hear, good for you! :handshake: What's better than taking what you enjoy doing and turning into a lucrative career? Nice that it's become a family affair too.

We were blessed with great firewood sales temperatures. From just before Christmas until a couple weeks ago we had -50* or colder we had 4 or 5 lows that were -76*. This caused many folk to burn through their winter wood. Many commonly started they normally have a cord+ left over and by mid January had ran out or close. It’s starting to return to a less hectic pace, we have been processing between 4-6 log truck deliveries a week.

I hope everyone is also having a great Nashville HOT sales season also. May we all have $12,000,000 solar cords lots of whiskey and beer. Well I don’t want the whiskey or beer but would take the cash instead.

I hope everyone has the weather they wish for. Good luck for the rest of the season.

That's great, glad you can handle those temps...and really glad that air has warmed up before it got to GA...:whistle:.
It definitely has been our best year in quite some time.

Every winter it seems 99 lbs will ask if I think we could/should move to Alaska.

I immediately remind her of the temps some of Alaska's residents post on this forum. :hair:

I’m aware of the temperatures, but I still would like to give it a shot. The wife will occasionally mention “we should just move to Alaska” but I know she’s not totally serious. She couldn’t get that far from the grandkids

Pre-storm sales picking up. I was going to deliver this next week but the incoming nor’easter changed things. All red oak.

Yeah it’s a muddy mess where I used my snowblower to make a lane for my truck and the grass is exposed. Nasty!

If the Nashville folks tried a little Loblolly in their fire pits I bet they’d never buy another super stick rick.

Second and final load of the day. I have one more customer that might call next week for a load, but other than that, my sales are just about done.

What I walked though this afternoon. DSCF0623.JPG Got an order around lunch and had to wheelbarrow five loads of bundles from the shed to the truck and made a mess of the trail I shoveled after the big storm.

Been breaking then in the last several weeks or so. No dirt or wood cutting so they still look new. My others have no tread so I thought it was time.

Not sure we can handle it as much as buckle down and endure the hand being delt. Thankfully we don’t see -70* all that often, every couple years is to soon. And makes me wander where all this climate change is hiding.

Southeast Alaska is warm but it’s coastal and rainy. Like 300 inches worth. But there is plenty of room move on up.

Come on up we don’t have the run of the mill lower 48 attitude that all y’all have to deal with. Way different up here. The extreme cold is not much fun but it living in Alaska is so good it makes you unfit to live anywhere else.

A friend sent me this; he found it on a Reddit post. It made me think of this thread, although I have no idea of the location:
