Contrary to others, I look forward to the paczkis coming out every year. They all are not good but we have one outlet that makes good ones. Lemon and powdered sugar are my favorite.

At least I can clear most of the snow in a lukewarm cab this year (the ram's heat seems to be fading)

I've had all sorts of paczkis. The best in Stevens point which is very polish in heritage, also from apparently the best polish bakery in Chicago's paczki, and the best polish bakery in Milwaukee's versions. None lived up to the hype. Donuts from Kwik Trip are better.

Making maple syrup this evening. In between feeding the evaporator I'll probably work in installing some LEDs on the tractor. I don't use it in the dark much, but when I do the bucket blocks out all the light from the factor hood lights.

I was surprised today. The cost to plug my tire was 22 dollars and some change.

I still have no idea what it is. It's aluminum. It was in my tire about a half inch.

Started on the tractor lights. Didn't get far. I mocked it up and powered it up with a jump box to make sure the will work, and it seems to be OK. I'll finish wiring it then take the brackets off and paint them, and put it all back together again. Need to make a notch for the ROPS to fold into, but I may hold off on the because I don't see myself never folding them up.

Wiring in an accessory fuse panel and terminal block in the back for future activities. I had the perfect length of 4 AWG from a previous project so im using that. Overkill but better to have an not need than need and not have, especially when it's "free".

They want 39,997 USD for that one. On one hand, it sounds like a lot for a 24 year old truck, and it probably cost less new. But inflation happened whether we like it or not.

On the other hand, the truck will be an antique next year, and it's a 135K mile 7.3 in perfect condition. Still less money than an equivalent truck would cost to buy new right now. The exchange rate works out to what I'd expect to pay for a new, base model half ton.

Depending on what year it is exactly ('99--03) that has to be darn close to new price. But I'd personally rather have the older truck...easier to work on, and less nanny state crap on it!

I was once in a home where there were about 10 polish ladies Making them. I'd never had one but they fixed that right away. I loved it. Fresh out of the fryer. I left that house with about 6 more. I was very happy. Nice ladies too. All were polish.

I'll admit I like the current new ones, but I'd take that one in a heartbeat too. She's a 2002.

Between last night and today I ended up cooking down 1 gallon of syrup. Probably the best I've ever made. Nice and light and crystal clear.

Got a little more tractor wiring done...waiting on some more parts to finish.

Tornado touched down a few miles away. Tore up a lot of roofs including a bank and Humane Society shelter. Critters are okay. Seeing chatter our Menards is ablaze . I went to our upstairs sunroom and watched it roll by. Only a small amount of hail for us.
