17/68, oak. Found a streak of wetter wood, hope it’s just the top layer of a tote that got snowed on. Restacked 3 totes from a freestanding stack of wood I split last summer sometime. Surprising how light some of the splits already felt. My goal for firewood this year is to have all 36 totes full plus another 12 totes worth split and stacked in one long row to refill from through next winter.
Load of BL and oak before I left for work. Still not above freezing temps. Tomorrow calling for temps to hit 40. Yesterday while bringing splits down I saw a flock of robins. I think they may be confused...
I saw a few trees full of Robins today and thought the same thing. Tomorrow should be more Robin like. I saw one car last week that was plastered with robin holly turds.
It is supposed to get to 40 tomorrow. Had robins also. They were eating all of the Winterberry berries.
And it was 38° here in WI. Warmer weather tomorrow and Wednesday too. A bit of the 1.5" of snow we got Sunday am melted. More will melt in the next couple of days. Box elder in the quadrafire now. 32°/69° Since you're talking birds, there was an adult bald eagle flying overhead while I was grilling out tonight. I've seen a few recently including a not quite fully white headed couple year old bald eagle over my house in fall. I think they take 5 years to fully get the stark white head and tail.
How nice to go out at 9:00 and it is forty degrees out. Just chunkies to get through. Up into the fifties tomorrow. Make this snow go away!
We got 4-6 inches of snow the other day . It is down to about 2 inches now. It's not warm enough to melt, it just packs down a little bit and it also just evaporate. Supp0sedly some just above freezing weather on its way.
First time in a while to see 20º when I let the Pups out. Supposed to hit 41º Boy, I hope so. Get rid of some of this ice. Just put on 2 Oak splits. 68º in the house.
28/72, small ash and oak splits, going to let the stove burn down today for a cleanout. It's going go feel like spring here the next two days.
