21 oak The ground is still covered in snow and ice. In the 34 years I have lived in this part of NC we have never had 2 consecutive weeks of snow cover. 64 on Tuesday should make this miserable crap finally disappear.

We got 4-6 inches of light fluffy snow yesterday. AS the fire wound down overnite the temps inside dropped more than usual. Thermostat set for 58ºF and its thermometer says it is 58ºF but two other thermometers read 62ºF. Apparently the boiler's thermostat is only relatively accurate around 70ºF.
Should be closer to 70ºF in here in a little bit, then I should get the snow blower fired up, or wait until tomorrow.
62ºF inside isn't so bad but my coffee sure gets cold quick.

8 feel like -10. Less wind then yesterday. Bl and oak in stove. I need to bring wood downtown the porch. I think I'll move the splits this morning just to get it over with. Like many, motivation is lacking with these temps. Which I hate. Looks like a welcome warm up is coming Tuesday.

I just have a lot of it this year because this is what the neighbor had that I got several cords of wood from the other year. There's some ash in there from the 1 ash tree that was dead and I took down as well, and also a crabapple. It was a bit colder this year than the last few years, so I'll probably use more wood than typical, but that's fine. I should have enough regardless, but maybe I need to pull more ugly nugs next time I'm out by the processing area.

This is Homer Alaska. They are close to 50 degrees. Perhaps we need a giant fan to blow some of that here?!
