A new (to me ) technique to get wood up the icy hill. Put the dog bath tub onto a trash can lid, then rope lined it up. 7 loads filled our face cord
    Temp hit 37

That's at the moment. As usual, it'll drop lower than that before the turn around. Heading for the low 20's and some snow-since I plowed yesterday. :D

26/71 oak and ash splits. Reached mid 40s here yesterday and supposed to close to 40 the next couple of days. Nice weather compared to the single digits last week. Ice is finally starting to melt some

Keep hanging in there and we haven't stopped praying for recovery. As for the winter, this year has been a dandy. The great lakes have lots of ice now too. I think it is now around 50% average. Erie has been frozen over for quite some time already. I think Mi is around 33% and Huron even more. Ontario isn't bad and although Superior has a good amount of ice, that is a huge lake so maybe around 20%.

A warmup is forecast for next week when we may see a decent thaw!

3/68 it was -4 when I went to bed last night. Clouds rolled in and warmed things up. 20’s today and 30’s tomorrow! Next week doesn’t look bad either, I need a break from this cold weather we’ve had!

I was pretty impressed on how the Fireview handled this arctic blast. Smaller hot fires kept the stove hot during the day and a reliable slower burn overnight with plenty of coals for more wood in the morning.

We have 16* currently, it was down to the low single digits at bedtime. We picked up an inch or two of powder overnight, today's menu is Oak and Cherry. The porch wood box needs to be refilled today.

A local TV station says that early next week will be 37, 39, and 39.

    Sounds good to me

    19°/68°

    Box elder in the stove.

I hauled up another cart full of box elder and ash and it's ready on the patio.
