    69° inside, with a little help from the furnace.

    Oak, crabapple, ash, and a few small pieces of box elder to fill the voids in the stove.

    25/70. Came home to a 76 degree house yesterday and let the fire go out last night. Fired up a box full of chestnut oak this morning.

    No way; they've got it much worse!

    99 lbs asked a couple years back if I would ever move to Alaska. Honestly, I don't think I could cope with those temps any longer.

    Heck, there are a lot younger people than me, from our church alone, that have turned into snowbirds!

    I am headed to bed. I have been feeding the stove and building a giant coal bed. Just checked outside and this was the result…. It’s farken cold!

    I'll never forget that day I had to work around Houghton. I never shut the truck off and ran heater on high all day. Even put some cardboard in front of radiator. I liked to froze... Once on the way I had radio on and I think it was Felth they said was -52. I do not miss that.

    6 out now. It was 12 not even 2 hours ago. -12 wind chill. I was planning on full hunker down today but decided I have a couple things to do outside this AM.

    Weather man says between 1" and 18" of snow this weekend.

    The pile of walnut, cherry, and pear is gone. It's mystery square wood and some ash for the next couple years.

    26/71. Temps dropping over the next 3 days. Low of -12 forecast with up to 19" of snow. That will paralyze this part of the state.

    Plenty of oak and b hickory standing by. Stay warm guys. It's cold out there.

    I don't know how you guys up north do it. Three days of zero and below temperatures and I'll be ready to move to Florida.
