My day started with an 18 hour fast drinking nothing but grain alcohol. My doctor tells me that my yellow skin is indicative of late stage fatty liver, but I put my faith and trust in the Lord, Lord Calvert that is. I don't need some quack that can't belt out 47 reps of perfect pullups to tell me I've had enough. Best part about making deliveries in a stupor is the time travel. I have no recollection of where I go or who I sell to, but my autopilot always gets me where I need to go and the booze money is always accounted for in my wallet each morning when I come to.

We're just lowly, wannabes sellers compared to yall...:(:(:(...
Winter weather approaching is making us some new friends...
2 new friends got 3 totes Monday... 20260119_132232.jpg
Tuesdays loads went to regular friends
White oak and hickory mix 20260120_123914.jpg
The other restaurant got the junky red oak...we restacked a 330gal tote to a 275gal tote. No more discount for them. We don't get a discount when we eat there and they don't tip...

Had a new friend and regular get totes Wednesday. Morning tote looked lime this, forgot the :ithappened: 20260121_134324.jpg 20260121_134316.jpg
We have 3 more scheduled for Thursday, old and new friend.
This is in conjunction with feeding the herd of cats, keeping our stove going, working 12hr night shift and dreaming of cutting more trees...

I’ve lost track of how many people I’ve declined and said maybe to.
4 deliveries today before I can drink liquor and exercise. At least 3 tomorrow and the next day before the Sunday fun day of chipping ice begins. This is where the booze and Olympic fitness pays off.
If we lose power, I’ll create power with the treadmill generator.

Way to get it done.:thumbs:A little Georgia ingenuity there. :sherlock:

I hate when customers do stuff like that.:heidi: My delivery yesterday had me stack the load for him. Not a problem. I had told him it was extra which he agreed to pay, except the fact he didn't have it! Paid me for the load and that's it. Im like WTH!!! I told you this two days ago. Plus his arm injury didn't seem that debilitating. I've stacked wood with one hand.

Yes its a sad state of the racks when empty. Im WAY behind in refilling them. Down about ten cords. Looks like after all this snow melts its time to get busy :tree: :saw: :axe: :stacker: :woodsign:

I would have been tempted to unstack it for him, right back onto the truck. No different than stealing, the way I see it.

I had just moved the wood twice!!! :hair:

He has been bad lately in terms of payment. Making me stop back for cash as he lives right around the corner from me, but still. Waits until he is out of wood to call expecting me to drop everything to deliver.:picard:
I have a newer customer that buys as much as he does and lives close by too. I've been tempted to get rid of the slow payer and sell to the new guy as he REALLY appreciates dry wood and burns just as much. Im stressed as to how I will supply both next year.

I have customers that have to use change for payment. A few days ago I received payment in a zip lock. You never know, it could be a life saving event in case of power loss. The center console in the Taco runneth over with silver rn.

Sounds like a good solution. I don't like dealing with dirtbags. In the meantime you could tell him you expect full payment as soon as you pull up, or no wood comes off the truck.

Id lose his phone number or charge an extra Benjamin…. … I’d definitely remember that if you choose to work with him.

I'm willing to bet you could pick up another regular in lieu of keeping the problematic customer around. You sell a good product. Let someone else deal with his games. The wood sales conversation usually focuses on bad sellers with wet wood, but bad buyers are no fun either. I've dealt with some characters before
I got a text this morning from a guy I sold 3 loads to last summer. He's only 2.5 miles from my house, and asked if I could deliver next week sometime since he's running low (but not out completely yet, so he doesn't expect me to jump through hoops to deliver this afternoon) I appreciate a transaction like that.

4 deliveries and 2 drive ins today Thank God I had 4+ cords of Pecan ready. Here’s another cord going out. 4 more tomorrow before I have to deal with the mother of all ice storms.
