Had a local tree service out today to take care of a problem oak leaning on the corner of the house. Guys gave me a really good deal and got it down in a pretty open space to process it. Made a few cuts this afternoon, forgot how heavy oak is!

That looks like a nice big pin oak. Lots of good wood in that!

Cant blame you on that one. Id be a bit nervous with a tree like that. Bet you saved a bundle by just having it dropped.

Hope the 028 gets some time in that oak. :saw:

    For keeps or borrowing?

I briefly owned an 036 pro (more or less the same saw) and loved it when it ran. It had starting issues, I got aggravated and sold it.

Nice. Just read the update in your other thread.

I have a circa 1992 034 I bought cheap a couple years back that i should run as well. Bought it from the original owner.

    Is that a 2511 Echo?

Yup the top handle is a 2511. My favorite saw for limbing.

Yea I hate to see a big oak go down but it was pushing on the house and it'll make great firewood a few years from now

You need to do a signature line.

Ive been tempted to buy one. Could've had a new one cheap a few years ago as the Echo rep was at an OPE dealer I used to frequent and he was giving out deals. Already having a couple Stihl top handles I use I opted not to. Does a FHCer need several chainsaws? :saw: Plus I have a couple Husky top handles I never use.:picard:

Fully understand! Sadly, here last year a family here in my neighborhood had to take an Oak down that was buckeling their foundation. The tree company and owner actually had the NJ Agriculture society look at the tree and said it was more than 250 years old. :( And, still thriving. The tree was there way before the house was.

Looks like they got that multi-trunk future problem out of there, too.
Oak looks solid. That heartwood can be primo firewood.

Yea I have a few multi trunk clusters of black cherry on the property. Most are starting to or have already died. Ive been workin away at them, perfect size wood to work with, one split and done.
