-4° this am. -19° real feel. Oak, honey locust, ash and crabapple in the quadrafire overnight. It ran 8 hours on that load. 69° in the house, furnace is pretty quiet, despite my wife upping the thermostat to that 69°. I reloaded this am with fir and box elder. My wife will reload during the day, probably more box elder and fir.
It's warming up a little. 15° feels like 15 71° in the house Ash, box elder, and fir in the quadrafire overnight.
12/68, bed of oak coals with small ash chunks. Supposed to warm up close to 50 the next few days before the weekend snow storm
23/68. Lake Michigan must be pushing some warm air to us. Oak in the burner. Discovered our porch will in fact get cold enough to freeze cans. Couldn’t figure out what the popping noise I heard yesterday was
Supposed to be warmer today but then, watch out! Be sure all water lines are taken care of. Get extra wood around and get all brass monkeys inside.
5/ 69* oak and BL. Will be going through the wood next 2 weeks or so. Weekend snow forecast still up in the air. Millions of dollars in equipment and they're still just guessers who like to panic people!
Brass monkey, that funky monkey! 19° /69° the warm front is here. A dusting of snow happened. And I'll have to drive on it in the driveway. Wife will too. Whatever. I'll take care of it and whatever falls tonight. It's supposed to get to like 24° today. Then the bottom drops out Thursday/ Friday into the weekend. Reloaded with box elder and fir this am.
6/70. Red oak and tulip poplar to get things going, then more barkless black locust for the reload. I’m loving this weather which justifies my firewood hoarding fetish
Agree with Eric. 4 degrees in the morning. Red oak all last night but this morning I dropped some Black Locust on the coals.
It was -2 this morning, the stove had gone out this morning so I lit the pellet stove and jumped back in bed. I'm going back to the wood stove now. It's 10* now, going to be burning Oak.
