Heading out to do the first round of white stuff moving. What a pain!! More tomorrow from what they say.

Maybe 4 inches so far with 2-4 for tomorrow. Hasn't really stopped yet, but the kid is due home soon. Want to clear a path for him so he has no issues getting up the drive. Ugh!!

I used a big push broom on the driveway 1.5" to 2" into the storm because I needed to do errands and didn't want to pack down the snow while clearing off the truck or driving over it.

In the afternoon I shoveled some of my backyard paths because I was restless and the snow was light. Had just under 4" (measured) at that time and was still snowing. Didn't actually get much more after that, so probably ended up right at 4". I will snow blow the driveway, additional parking area, and remaining paths this morning.

Then supposed to get 3-6"" of snow this afternoon into tonight. Friday night they thought it would stay south, but apparently things changed.

I haven't used that thing in the last two seasons. The tractor and bucket are just way too easy for the drive and parking spots. I've been grabbing the shovel to do the walk way with the light stuff. Might get a small battery powered one just for the walk ways. Sell off the gas power one.

I'd wait until the storms were over, But with my son still here. I go out in the luls to do quick passes on the drive and parking spot. Wife an I will go out and move the cars around so I can do a full cleanup once most of this mess is over. Got another inch so far this morning.

We got an Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO snowblower a few years back.
Did it all manually for 10 years before that.
Discovered sleigh shovels at some point.
Have only run the machine 3 or 4 times this season.
Shovel and broom other than that.
Drive is about 60 feet from where it starts downhill, with a big flat area up top, so i am thankful to have the snowblower when i need it.

It looks as if it could get nasty down there. At this point they are unsure if my area will just get brushed by the edge or hit harder. We will have the brutal cold system locked into place, so that system is unlikely to be able to push up too far.

Nope, left it with the house I sold in NY. We haven't had any sn*w here in 3 1/2 winters.

If, and when, it gets nasty, I just stay inside. When I moved here, I was told to just bring 1 sn*w shovel, and as much ice melt as I could. Oh, and I have the ice grippers for the shoes IF I venture out.

I'll do a little shopping for French Toast  , get the truck filled w/ gas, and have the Genny & gas caddy by the garage door, Friday morning. So glad I had the genny outlet hard wired into the breaker box w/ the interlock. Just flip the interlock & breaker, start the 9500 Predator inverter genny, and it powers the whole house with ease. 7 gal tank on the unit, plus a 16 gallon caddy......I'm ready. Since it runs the whole house on the low-speed Eco mode, I probably have enough gas for 3-4 days. And then there's another 10 gal in the shed for the zero-turn.

I'm ready to watch it come down, and then melt. :coffee:

The 5 day forecast starting Sat.:

Odds are the weather folks are just building it up and you get rain anyways. The genny setup you have is more critical

I gotz a 30 gallon caddy last year for xmas. Luv it!! Gas it up and run the gen for 6 to 7 days. Will run the tractors for a few months. Its pretty heavy when full, But the tractor with the forks on lifts it off the pickup NP. No more running around if something hits and we have to go find fuel. Just need to be sure we fill it before the stuff happens. Luckily wifes good at reminding me!

    33f called for today.
Initially NOAA had been showing 30, but i always just assume anything even close means i will be out there clearing to avoid the melt/refreeze.

Well it took a few weeks longer than I originally planned for, but finally got the P43 up and running. Biggest motivation? The $500 electric bill for last month. Figured since it was going to be warm today (42 degrees mid January in NH is beach weather !), I'd get as many bags in the house until my back and knees yelled stop. Managed to get 24 bags in. Lori helped as much as she could but her shoulder and neck really limit her.

Found I hadn't done an end of season cleaning last April so had to do that but stove is clean and running, cranking out serious heat. Forgot how much I missed the sound of pellets clinking as they feed.

You will really appreciate that added heat during this upcoming cold and wind!

Hope neither of you are too sore!

Don't feel too bad this morning. Knees are stiff but I'm moving ok.

Yeah with the super cold this weekend plus it being colder overall than the past few years, the pellet stove makes a difference. The fact ours vents into the center chimney keeps the core of the house warm. Plus with the stove located right off the stairs, a good flow of heat just rises up. Noticed how the upstairs was a lot warmer overnight.

Storm forecast now calling for 12-18" Sunday night thru Monday .

    Nice and cold here. -9f
    5 to 11" snow Sunday night-Monday.
More Monday night, but no amount estimate posted yet.
Should be an easy time of it.
Shopping today, and no worries about melting conditions.

Helga is purring along on high.
Wife turned her up from medium in the early AM.

Several years ago now, i called the dealer we bought Helga from to ask a question.
In a clearly surprised tone, he said "That's still working?"
I guess there were a lot of issues with the Cab-50s
Not sure how they differ that much from the PS-50.
I had thought it was just packaging, and hopper size (If i recall)

    Helga is a freaking trooper.

Saw the forecast has changed for southeastern NH, now in the 18-24" zone for Sun nite-Mon.

A couple of our Friday night computer golf group who live near Phoenix were saying how chilly it is there- at 70*.
Another one living near Minn-St. Paul said the air temp yesterday was -22, wind chills in the -30's.
Zero here in Kingston right now, -18 wind chill. P43 cranking out the heat, comfy 72 in the house.

You can tell them, "Yeah, but it's a dry cold."
