Well, I had that thought too. Cars have gotten smaller, trucks bigger.

Late model chevy sonic, no problem.

    This might be somewhat relevant...

Or an excuse to enlarge your garage :D

I think mine was a 1974. Great car other than burning oil, valve seals.

I understand your point; as I am allergic to cats that’s not a problem. As long as I live where I do; my wife will always have a dog or 2. 200 pounds of teeth keep dumb people from doing dumb things.

My 20 yo daughter goes to dump in town brings dog; as a worker there gives her creeps.. But is OK and helpful with Angus supervising IMG_0295.jpeg

He is very friendly unless you startle him or his wominz

My F-150 barely fits in the far side of my garage. The 6.5' bed crew cab would not, so the 5.5' bed was what I had to buy. I was fine with that, because of I needed a foot more fur longer things, you just drop the tailgate and go from there.

We had a couple of those big dogs. I know we had a dark blue 78 T bird in California. Then I swear we had another one of those bigger t birds too. We had an 81 fox body t bird then a 93 super coupe.

    Speaking of big dogs...

Angus has a job. He was taught by Lady. That's why I always like to get another dog while you have another to learn from the current supervisor.

We had no heat from the furnace overnight. It really didn't need to work too much with the wood stove, but after the stuff had few coals from overnight again with fir and box elder and 1) 2" stick of honey locust there wasn't a lot of coals, just from the HL, the furnace should've kicked on when I got up this am.

So I went downstairs and checked out the furnace. Yeah, it wouldn't stay lit.
    Screenshot_20260111-104946.png

So I started checking out the possibilities.

I cleaned the burner venturi tubes and vacuumed out the exchanger tubes and reassembled everything. There was some crud in the tubes and and the venturis. I broke the ignitor when I stupidly didn't unscrew it. But I had the old one that was fine that I swapped about 10 years ago with a new one for PM. That saved me a trip.

Old ignitor in the furnace, and it started right up. No LED problem lights on the self diagnostic on the unit, just running good.

I sent my wife a picture of the ignitor and she already had it on order from Amazon. I'll swap that out when it arrives and keep the
Old one currently I in use as a spare again.

I'm thinking about replacing this old furnace and AC unit in the near future. It's not even a high efficiency unit. That would leave only the gas heater using that chimney, and it's been probably close to 10 years on that too. If I swap the furnace and water heater to a direct vent/ on demand water heater that leaves nothing using the chimney.... Kuuma wood furnace time in the basement?

Got my bathroom pretty much all framed out now.

And one window cased. Huge improvement.

Yup that 85 pounds female shepherd had more protection instincts than Gus. He’s a male and generally a big happy go lucky. Lady would track mom and kids if they dared leave her inside and be next to them in minutes. She had a female dog side:whistle:

edited to add Horkn and his bride drove Wisconsin to east coast and stopped by and played with his 2 very well trained labs.

    Yup!
Consider a heat pump water heater...it will dehumify the basement in summer, and in winter will use some of the "waste" heat from being near the Kuuma to "heat your water with wood"
    That's our setup...no regrets!

My garage is 13 x 24 (WxL), which sounds like a great size and is really oversized for a 1 car garage.. Except the overhead door frame is about 6' tall and the ceiling itself is less than 8' (and that doesn't account for the 8" tall carrier beam running across the middle of the ceiling). Even with a slim line rail system, when the door is open, I have to be careful as the readers on top of my head will bang into it (I'm 5'5"). With it being an under-house garage, the carrier beam and FHW pipes that run just above the door frame, there is no modifying it.

The width of the overhead door is nothing to brag about either as it left only a couple of inches from the mirrors on either side of the Focus.

But, it could hold a couple of tons of pellets, the Streetglide (when I had it), and the car along with a few other small odds and ends.

That is a lot of dog there. I also understand any wrong move toward the girls by someone might not turn out well for them.
