IBC is back up

    It did just that. It started fine (large start up fire) but went to low fire about 5 minutes afterwards.

    The jumper was in place for the t-stat and I disconnected the thermocouple wire and reconnected it several times. I thought that maybe the thermocouple had gone bad, so I sold the stove for what I paid for it ($300).

    The next step would have been to trick the thermocoupler by pulling it out of the exh port and holding a candle on the end to make it think the exh temp built up and it will add corn to maintain the fire at the level you had selected. When buying a used stove I do a thorough cleaning which in Bixbys case also involves removing the feeder wheel as fines can build up under it to the point it slides over the fuel and the slots can't deliver the right amount of fuel. A lot of people never had problems until the stove was 3 years old and was never aware that the hopper was supposed to be cleaned once in a while as regular maintenance. I usually have a mental check list of possible reasons for most problems and suggest the easy ones first forgetting that sometimes we as humans read through the book then turn it on and if it runs we slip up on the maintenance issue. I have seen the thermo coupler being bad and it is a cheap fix. Normally however it is that flimsy lock they use to keep it connected to the main board. The normal startup procedure uses a airpump to force hot air through the ignitors and after a certain period of time it quits dropping the flame to a idle. Then the thermocoupler is supposed to sense the rise in temp and tells the mother board to drop more fuel slowly to allow the flame to build up until the heat level is reached that you have selected. As the exh temp is raised the exh fan kicks in sucking more fresh air into the system creating more heat.
