Had a tree fall on the fence out at the property and went and fixed it this AM.

Going to change oil and get the SXS cleaned up this evening.

Boo! My ‘13 F150 has been sitting for a bit because of body rot. Mechanically excellent but wouldn’t pass state inspection. For some strange reason the state of NH has legislated state inspections away, she will be back on the road as soon as that kicks in Feb1.

That's always been a ram issue.

Some other brands have good and bad years, but it seems all rams are rustier than other brands

Wow, they got rid of that? It took them long enough. What about Maine?

All the same, for her age, this truck is still in excellent shape.

I've seen them go downhill quickly, so we'll see what the future holds.

I don't think Maine has done away with inspections.

    Maine still has state inspections.

After working on the public’s vehicles for a while, I’m not so sure that it’s such a great idea to eliminate annual inspections. Some peopled have no problem running some real sboxes down the road next to you

It's a double edged thing. We used to have them here, and one of the reasons they stopped it was mechanics were constantly getting away with telling people their cars needed repairs they actually didn't, and charging them for it.

That can happen anytime, but it's an extra opportunity and leverage point with the yearly inspections. On the other hand, it was also commonplace for mechanics to take bribes to sign off on inspection without even actually looking at the car, defeating the purpose. They cracked down on that here a while ago so there aren't many willing to do it these days. We still need an inspection if the vehicle is sold, and commercial vehicles do need yearly inspections.

    Another mild overnight here also.

Did a good cleanup with the 2"-3" snow we had yesterday morning. This was added to the stuff we got over the weekend. Yesterday's snow was all sugar snow. A useless type of snow IMO.

If it gets warm enough on Thu, I'll try to push some snowbanks back as the driveway is already becoming narrow. This job is where a tractor with one of those snow pusher blade would be utilized. I had always thought of getting the front mount snowblower for a tractor but the number of twigs/pieces of branches that break off and get buried in the snow concern me. This year it has been a bumper crop for them!

Last day of work! And, of course, since I have to drive 50 miles to the office to turn in my equipment, the roads will be a mess with snow covered by freezing rain and ice.
