I bought my tractor used and it spent its time sitting out in the Texas sun. The paint was pretty faded and rough to the touch and the plastic in the operator station were faded bad. That didn't bother me, but if I can make it look better then why not?

I don't know where I saw this, but I bought a pro-pack of cerakote headlight restoration oxidation remover wipes and wiped down almost the whole exterior, then buffed the hood with some compound, and waxed the whole thing. It doesn't look new, but it looks 90% better than it did. It took a few hours. I should have taken some before and after pics.

As Chaz said, it's been on it a few times!:rofl:  It's kinda a long story and did I say it's LONG........ :binoculars: I had all intentions of having it to use at my New Hampshire property, then when housing prices to build went crazy, and I couldn't get anyone to build a house, (contractors) were short handed and couldn't get a builder to commit to a price, :picard: I had already owned the Kubota. Bought it new, knowing I was going to need one someday. That's the short version....

Don’t worry, your tractor is not alone. My poor Kubota sits outside even though we have a 30’x40’ garage, and a 30’x30’ temp garage, both are full. I can barely squeeze myself between things in them. I did go out and clean her off today, and run her a bit. IMG_6604.jpeg

Nice work! Unreal how far north the warmup went! And now, back to the freezer. Wish it would just stay cold and preserve the snow.

Just crazy. We’ve had a good start to the winter…it’s these 24/36 hour warmups that make a mess.

The temp swings have been quite a pain, mostly with the driveway skating rink. At least I haven't seen ticks or black flies in a while.

B2601 has been handling things well even with the snow and ice. I just about hit the safe limit skidding the below log, 22" diameter, 16ft long sugar maple. I'm not sure if 2x 8ft logs would be easier.

For you folks with larger tractors, what are your usual log sizes/hitches looking like?

Yanmar's and cows allowed? :D It's a Yanmar YT347 IHMT that I've owned now for 6 or 7 years at this point. I don't think it's ever seen a wash bucket or a pressure washer (as you can tell). It's been a rock solid tractor so far, all I've ever done is change the fluids, put fuel in it, and grease it every 25 hours.

Normally move my round bales with a spear up front but I didn't want to take the forks off to put it on so I used the forks to move one of the bales with. Of course the bale fell awkward off of top of the stack but it worked out better than I thought it would.

    Cows being nosey as always.

Put the chains on the tractor this morning, added saws, tools, and chaps to the tractor and headed out this afternoon. Cut up a couple trees I had dropped for the deer to eat, and started a log pile of 8’ logs for firewood.

I serviced my tractor yesterday, including an oil change. Not sure what oil was in there before but I used T6 5W-40 this time and it sounds way happier when cold. I knew it would help, but not that much.

I also use T6 5w-40 in my tractor and side by side (Kubotas.) Much easier cold starts.

Emergency fence repair this morning. Had to blaze a little bit of a trail, but the grapple made it easy. Fence looks bad but it will still keep goats in.

Looks are definitively secondary to functional in emergency repairs! Great job

In the thread first read where you had mentioned the fence repair, I had wondered if there was any snow that you had to work in. I should have know better! :salute:

We had a trees job yesterday afternoon. L4802 with Catawba grapple had a workout. 32"x 8' long leaf pine butt cut was all it wanted.
That'sthe first fat pine center I've seen in a long time. Messenger_creation_D06BAE90-E810-4AAA-ABFB-481C4D88F5C5.jpeg .

Is that a ballast box, carry-all, or combo of both on the back? I need to figure something out for mine. I don't want to load the rear tires to keep it light when working in the woods or yard, but need something for heavy lifting. Right now I just use the box blade, but it isn't quite enough (about 550lbs). When I pick a pallet of square wood from the sawmill I'm pretty much driving on the front tires.

Kind of a combo...it's heavy, over 900 lbs. Has a box underneath for chains, axe, wedges. I'll try to get a better picture
