All quiet on the "Western Front"
Wet.....Nearing 13" of rain so far this month.
Last couple days the weather folks have been "Hanging crape" and screaming major wind event for today.
The early morning forecast has rolled the wind waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back.
Maybe some blustery/breezy stuff to 25 mph Last night it was sounding like 50mph ++
This is good that we are not going to need to deal with a big blow.....

I finally got repair parts in for the two Whitfields.
Originally I ordered just what I needed to build the two controllers ..

The timers need to be ordered from Infitec and cpme through a distributor in Cali.....

I wanted to get enough parts to do two complete change outs on the modules.

These parts need to be spec'd out to order and are not an off the shelf item.
The basic unit ...then the input voltage....the time delays and other parameters has to be spec'd and then they build to order.

$750 for 6 parts....

They are here now and in the parts cupboard......I feel far more at ease than I have.

The new controllers went on the stoves in May 2019...
6 years is not all that long..Butttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.....Electronics can and do fail and with a ten day lead time (plus the holidays coming up) I decided to trip the trigger on these.

Rather be safe than cold...

 

We have Sn*w, ground is white, Bucky likes it white.

 

Grimeton Sweden was on air at 17200 Hertz with its Christmas Eve Broadcast.

 

Took me a day and a half to get from NH to Kansas (by airplane), but did finally make it - and in one piece so that is a win I guess.

 

The wind event wiggled and died...
Here at the ranch we had a few gusts at 15 mph....MOST LIKELY the result of some very vigorous showers in the area.

By mid day it was pleasant with showers around and sun breaks.
Christnas eve dinner with the family was great....
Good company, great food....

Christmas morning.
Slept in to 5am
Life is good

Supposed to have got all snow 3-5, woke up to freezing rain, then a mix before turning to all snow. What a mess, but power stayed on and only ended up with about 1 inch.

Upcoming week looks to be very active with snow, wind and very cold temps. I'm ready to do the snowbird thing!
