And he's back home to load the next day's deliveries by 4PM so he can get his drunk on...
splitting nice straight grain is easy with anything and yes the x27 would tear thru that because it's easy splitting. get into some hard arse knotty stuff and it's a different beast, as you all know.
I split pretty much all of my wood with an x27 out in the woods, granted it’s all oak. I do have a hydro at home that gets used for maple and other knotty wood. I can hand split a load of wood by myself in about half the time it takes with the hydraulic. A kinetic splitter is a whole other ballgame but then I’d have to wrestle with the large rounds and my back doesn’t like that!
Is this a reminder to put the tailgate up before starting back down a bumpy trail? . Just kidding but it was my first thought glancing at the picture.
That is funny, hadn’t thought about that before I posted. That trail certainly is rough enough for that to happen if the tailgate was down. Sometimes I have to stop and pick pieces up that rolled off on the way out
Is that white oak you split in that pic? It splits readily by hand? Been awhile, I don't remember! Red oak, straight grain, can split well. White oak seems stringier.
