    Good morning, members.

Wintry day ahead. 21⁰/32⁰ all day flurries start mid-morning. Maybe an inch or two.

The town has changed to not allow residents access to the salt shed. It's locked. A dpw guy came out and said it was due to insurance liability. But, they are providing rock salt for residents, by leaving a pile of it outside the salt shed, uncovered. I'll be going back in a few days to see how it works out.

I have groceries to pickup. Planning roasted pork tenderloins, seasoned with a porchetta spice mix.

Mrs MikeInMa will be making holiday breads - date nut and cranberry nut. Good house smells.

    Lunch with Truckaa

Our town provides a sand/salt mixture which is the same as they use on the roads. The "driveway sand" pile is across the road from the town garage. I assume it is there for liability reasons and so residents aren't in the way of the road crew when there is a storm.

The guy said 90% of residents don't get salt during a storm. They get it ahead of time. But that 10% will be trying to get a bucket full while they are using the loader. Frustrating.

I am fortunate as I just go out in back and get all the sand we will need. Most of it I get in the heat of summer so there is no moisture in it so it won't freeze into a block. Only one time did I get sand with the tractor during winter. We had a massive snow melt followed by a hard freeze and we couldn't walk on the driveway.

Good morning. Warmer weather last night as i loaded the boiler with rain just starting. Appears we had enough to make everything wet. A warm spell coming with a sixty degree Christmas , a chance to get more splitting .

To my southern hemisphere friend; we both know Santa wears a swim wear and the red is not a suit but a sun burn

Maybe in mainland Australia, we have a friend in Tasmania, he sent me a message this morning...gale force winds and rain, colder temps returning, predicting them to have a white Christmas...an the mainland has over 100⁰ temps

Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. 48⁰/70⁰ cloudy. Start my 6PM-6AM shift tonight for the week, maybe I'll see Ol' Rudolph's red nose streaking across the sky Wednesday night...:whistle:...
We had a good time with my friend, Gary, yesterday. We cooked a good breakfast, he helped me on the woodyard while Miz Carol was doing some baking in the house. We got a pile of maple that was almost to old processed for him and cleaned up some holly, oak, rest of the maple and dogwood on the second load. He also got an electric fry pan and some food items from my SIL.
Some of the maple still looked really good... 20251222_093838.jpg
1st load after we started unloading it... 20251222_104745.jpg
    2nd load... 20251222_150214.jpg
He has a little spot on that property to put his "cabin", storage building about the size of our utility room...maybe...
Wish I had time to tell his story, maybe another day...
He felt the spirit of Christmas yesterday...and it felt great to help him.
Share a smile, lend a hand, be encouraging and kind.

To the geographically challenged, Tasmania, is an island closer to Antarctica then anywhere, kind of like Alaska is to America

Morning all. Woke up to a skiff of snow. Dogs were quite interested in it. It probably won't last past noon.

Chores this morning. I just might get my tree put up before I head over to visit with Mom today. Another first for Lily. campinspecter has a dog excerise pen to put around it or else it will get chewed on and ornaments pulled off.

    Everyone have a great day.

    Good morning, members.

    Windy day 27⁰/33⁰ cloud/sun mix.

It snowed just enough to require a bit of snow relocation. But, there should be enough to stick around through tomorrow.

Mrs MikeInMa will be filling the house with baked apple pie.

I'll be prepping some pork tenderloins(4) for tomorrow. I need to season them with Italian porchetta spices. I'll tie them all together and let the seasoning do its thing overnight.

We'll be doing Chinese take-out later. No plans to go out tonight. Fully content with sitting by the woodstove.

    Please be safe!

G’ morning :coffee: Happy Christmas Eve
I read these posts where people write their plans for
The day.. it’s beautiful, intentional and looks so organized marching in a unified direction.

my day resembles none of that. I like plans

Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY and Merry Christmas Eve. 53⁰/78⁰ :bug::hair:partly cloudy. Definitely won't need a :fire: today. First 6PM-6AM night done, a couple more to go. Need to get gas and diesel for splitter, ZT mower and :tractor:before heading home. Middle daughter and family is coming over for Christmas this morning, not sure of any plans. I do know Miz Carol has been busy baking cheesecakes, got 3 I'll help her deliver.
