The one thing I am not a fan of is the white plastics. I personally would much rather have black, but that is just me. Were they done in white because the original one was also white?

Yep, the originals were white so the re-releases are as well. They stated in a video on their channel that they can easily be dyed any color you would like. I thought about dying everything black. Maybe the #2 kit will get that treatment. Lol
