34/68. Lodgepole. Not much of anything yesterday little rain. I knew the wind was moving those clouds.
45/74 basically one piece at a time on the weekends. Not taking much to keep it warm. The 10-day is saying the same temps, mid to low 40’s.
53/72. I've been quiet for awhile. Not much to write about. We are setting records for warm temps. Usually one small fire a day. Sometimes no fire. Just look at this! My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder in Ok. Lopi Endeavor and Republic 1250
The daytime numerical low temperature . I got many readings around the yard that were Lo. Which means 60 below F or 50 below C or colder. I really would like to find a quality , dependable thermometer that goes down below the coldest temperature we will get . . Which i know is close to 80 below. Spruce short butt splits and half cookies doing great at keeping the house comfortable for the daytime . Split Birch for the overnight loads.
These temps are why my walls are9 to 10 inches thick . The ceiling joists/roof rafters are 12" and 14" and floor joists are 10" . All with dense packed cellulose insulation . Andvwhy I Thank God that I had the time and materials to enclose the porch/arctic entry. In winters past we would go through 2 wheelbarrow loads of wood per day in constant 50 below and colder temps . Today we will use probably 1+1/3rd . Due to getting the window and man door installed in the entry .
27 now. 2 Osage Orange splits, 5 small oak rounds, couple little pine branches. Winds last night gifted a dead and dry oak branch today.
Low 50's here so perfect weather to split some wood. Over filled 1 tote plus worked on another. Not much of a dent in the pile waiting to get processed. Some ash, elm, and a split of HL in the stove for tonight.
Hovering around 10-15 here. I have more of the ‘not great’ wood in the stove and apple/cherry in the smoker for bacon. I didn’t weigh it, but there should be about 40 lbs in there. Before and during pics…
